I want to thank LeBron James and his super agent Rich Paul for taking a meeting with me back in 2018 when I was President of the Lakers and deciding to sign with us. He created a whole new era for the Lakers, including leading us to an NBA Championship in 2020 and all the milestones he surpassed in a Lakers jersey. I’ll always love and be grateful for him and wish him all the best in the next phase of his life, on and off the court!

Look how many big trades and free agent signings my former Lakers coach and one of my best friend’s, Pat Riley has pulled off - LeBron James, Shaq, Jimmy Butler, Alonzo Mourning, Ray Allen, and now Giannis Antetokounmpo. And of course he drafted the legendary Dwyane Wade! It’s not even a question, he’s one of the best executives in NBA history!

People are going to talk about Giannis Antetokounmpo, and they should because he and Nikola Jokić are the two best players in the league, but don’t sleep on how important the Heat getting Bobby Portis is. Bobby’s ability to shoot from the 3-point line and his toughness, he will be a major part of the Heat success!

Miami Heat owner Micky Arison and his son, Heat CEO Nick Arison, pulled off a major major trade for superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis from the Bucks. Put them right there with the World Champion New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference!

Cookie and I were saddened to hear about the passing of our good friend Clive Davis, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, visionary, and the man behind some of the greatest voices of our generation. Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Janis Joplin, and so many more were elevated because of him and his golden ear for talent. The music world has truly lost a legend.

His Grammy parties will always be a core memory for us, and we’ll cherish all the great times we shared together. We're going to miss him deeply and are praying for his entire family during this time 🙏🏾

Today, the Obama Presidential Center officially opens in Chicago! Barack and Michelle Obama could have built this center anywhere in the world, but they chose Jackson Park, the South Side of Chicago - the streets where Barack once knocked on doors as a young organizer. I love that that’s where he wanted it to be; The place where his story started.

As this country’s first Black President and First Lady, they never let that be the end of their legacy. They spent every day since opening doors for everyone, regardless of political party, coming up behind them, and Cookie and I have been fortunate to see that commitment up close.

This center isn’t just a monument to what Obama has done. It’s a library, a museum, and a place where the next generation will come to understand not just what he did - but what’s possible for them. Barack, this is so well-deserved. Cookie and I can’t wait to bring the family to visit it in person!

A special shoutout to the Knicks starting five: Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart 👏🏾 Btw, Josh is one of the players I drafted in the first round when I was President of the Lakers, and he's one of my favorite players because of how he impacts winning without having to score a point!

We just watched the Knicks make the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history! The first and second half were two completely different stories - the Spurs dominated in the first half and Knicks stormed back in the second. Jalen Brunson put the team on his back with his 36-point performance, but OG Anunoby was the true hero tonight, finishing with 33 points AND the game-winning tip in!

De’Aaron Fox made a huge mistake when he got the ball with seconds left in the fourth and decided to go for a layup instead of dribbling the ball out to be fouled. I think the Spurs have another win in them and the Series will stretch out to 6 or 7 games, but I still see the Knicks winning it all.

Two big plays sealed the victory for the Spurs: Castle’s 3-pointer and Fox’s step back jumper!

Tonight was a masterful coaching job by Spurs Head Coach Mitch Johnson. He deserves a lot of credit for instilling such confidence in his team to get this win on the road!

I was in awe of Victor Wembanyama’s performance tonight - not only did he score 32 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, he also became the 2nd youngest player to have 30, 5 and 5 in the victory over the Knicks on their home court (behind some kid who played for the Lakers) 😂

The entire Spurs team deserves a lot of credit for believing they could win and coming out and executing their game plan. They couldn’t have won without help from Castle, who stepped up tonight with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists - and four other Spurs ended in double figures: Harper scored 13 points, Champagnie and Fox had 12 points, and Vassell finished with 11.
