@realtalk360blog@Average_NY_Guy Thanks, but I am not a Republican...
I do know economics though and that's what this is. Simple economics.
If Republicans would be driving this I would criticize it.
I believe politics drive short-term wins on both sides, but that has nothing to do with just bad economics.
I don't think there is a left and a right anymore.
You can argue that there is no Republicans and Democrats anymore either.
This split used to mean differing opinions in economics, politics, foreign policy, etc. Now it's a guise to hide the true divide that exists in our world.
I think the world has now deteriorated into a war between two factions.
The first - have strong beliefs. They want independence, the opportunity to succeed. They search for a return to the good old simple days where work and effort meant results and rewards. Where striving for equality meant providing equal opportunities not equal outcomes.
The second - have strong beliefs. They believe that the world is not fair anymore. That the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. They strive for a better world for everyone, for equality of outcome. A world where every single one of us can live a better life, regardless of the circumstances of our birth. They want to feel a part of something bigger, in a world that has grown so big we might feel small and insignificant within it.
Both of these "factions" have flavors. Some are more extreme than others, but both at their core are not political. They are not democratic or republican. The arguments at their core are around core beliefs.
Both of these factions are augmented to fit in to what we know and understand and that is the left and the right. We require defined boxes to be able to feel that we are a part of something that is not too abstract.
The issue is that both of these factions suffer internally from a divide. That divide is the real war we have to win, and if we don't, it will not matter which faction and belief prevail. The world will suffer for it.
The divide is simple. There are two types of people in each of these factions:
1. The first believe that their view of the world is fact. It is undeniably correct and anyone who dares argue against it is not only irrelevant, but frankly idiotic and lesser in intellectual capabilities. These people do not want to have a conversation. All they want is to convert, or destroy. Join or be denied entry. Assimilate or die. Now this might sound extreme but that is how they view the world, through that lense, and they exist in both of the factions. This approach is destructive to humanity. It is the enemy of intellectual advancement and has nothing but drawbacks in the long run.
2. The second also believe that they are one hundred percent correct in how they view the world. But, and this but is important, they are open to the concept that they might be wrong. A small distinction that on the surface might seem irrelevant but completely changes how they behave and engage with the rest of the world. This half might disagree with you, but your opinion still matters. They are able to disagree with a part of your opinion and then augment their opinion with the part of yours that they agree with. This creates growth, nurturing of diverse opinions and thought and an overall advancement of humanity.
Democracy at its core is built on the assumption that humans will behave like the second group. Opinions will differ but the side that wins is not free to completely trample the other side.
A chosen representative must represent the entirety of the people, even those that didn't vote for them. They must listen, combine opinions and thought, and work to better everyone, not just the side that won the current cycle.
If humans behave like the first group then we have a tug of war where everyone loses. Each side is hell bent on destroying anything that the other side is atrempting, limiting any advancement or betterment of the populace and digging ourselves deeper and deeper in to a trench that we will find very hard to dig ourselves out of.
This is a choice. It is and individual choice. No one will change your opinions and no one should. You believe what you believe.
But ask yourself - can you accept those that do not agree with you?
We must.
@Jason The fallacy of the west is assuming thst the other side is going to behave like a westerner.
The middle east is an entirely different animal and the US misjudged it.

Can western civilization just invent an opt-out button?
Anyone who hates capitalism, the free market, progress in general, they can just opt out. But they opt out from everything, like living in a cozy home in a safe neighborhood in a thriving country.
Win - Win for everyone.
Quick question:
If an African American man robs a store. That doesnβt mean all African Americans are criminals right?
So if some Zionists (or any Jew) are horrible or commit a crime, how come their action mean all zionists or Jews are criminals/horrible?
Asking for a friend..
@16bitnostalgia Multiple phase bosses suck. The health bar should be it. If you want another phase put it at the half bar point. Nothing worse than that health bar refilling.
@misfitpatriot_ Hey look,
Someone having a critical thoughtful question on a topic.
What a breath of fresh air in this cesspool of opinions treated as facts.
Thank you.
Hey all you #FreePalaestine advocates.
Honestly, my biggest issue with all the glorification of the violence in Amsterdam is that your main claim is "they deserved it".
So if I rip a flag down, which is wrong and should not happen, the proportionate response is to beat me until I'm unconscious right?
Oh but it's important to state that you can also beat people who didn't rip the flag personally, who didn't chant hateful things, because they are #Jewish and therefore accountable.
Right?
So this means that if you come into my country and rape and kill hundreds of my people... The proportionate response, according to your math, is to come into your home and destroy anyone responsible for that. And I mean collateral damage is on the board of course, even if it is never a goal, on the contrary I jump through hoops to avoid it.
Right?
This is just me extrapolating your math.
Oh! I forgot. this math only applies when jews are on the receiving end. I forgot that 2+2 =Jew.
Your math ain't mathing folks.

@elonmusk "Academia" is a loose term nowadays
The study of diversity equity and inclusion in the 1500s should not count as a degree.
Split this out by field of study and let's see the numbers.
@TaliesinEvitel@Portergauge Never challenged you on that topic. And sorry for dragging you into a conversation you have no interest in.
All I wanted is to offer context to a topic so poorly discussed.
Your grievences with him are of no interest to me.
Sorry for wasting your time.
@TaliesinEvitel@Portergauge I don't care about him.
I watch your channel, and it sucks that you are weighing in on a topic you have no clue about, and hiding behind the righteousness of stating clear facts with no context as long as the obvious context doesn't fit you.
I also enjoy critical discussions.
@TaliesinEvitel@Portergauge Kids die every day.
The US killed thousands of kids
Britain killed thousands of kids
It's called war, and it is fucking horrible.
And if the only point you are trying to make is that killing kids is bad and he doesn't acknowledge that - great.
But it's not kids being genocided.
@TaliesinEvitel@Portergauge I'll bite
Sure - not caring people are killed is, as you say, disgusting.
His wording suck but:
HXmas, the Palestinians, and those protesting for them, call for genocide, and Sharia law, openly.
Also - 11000 children. That's HXmas numbers, unverified, and you echo it freely.
@TaliesinEvitel@Portergauge I agree that the calling for anyone's death or stating that killing them is deserved is sick. I'm just pointing to the weaponization of the word genocide, used wrongly both by you and by him.
Nothing about what's happening here is simple, so, accurate words are important.
