Mueller did not clear Trump on obstruction:
โIf we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state...however, we are unable to reach that judgement.โ Mueller
Financial Times columnist Gillian Tett: I remember back when it was starting on the tariff war with Canada, one of the [Trump] administration officials told me that they were going after Canada for sport, just to show who's in charge.

Hockey Night in Canada goes back much farther than 1952 when it first aired on television.
National hockey on CRBC/CBC began in 1933, and Hockey Night in Canada was first used as the program's name in 1936.

The end of Hockey Night in Canada is more than just the end of a television show.
Hockey Night in Canada was something uniquely Canadian.
Now it is gone.
A piece of our cultural tapestry now in the dustbin of history.
Overcrowded ERs are a symptom of the Ford Conservativesโ failure to strengthen and properly fund our health system โ from primary care shortages to underinvestment in mental health and addictions, and home care.
When people canโt access care in their communities and homes, more will turn to ERs for help and more will wait in hallways for a hospital bed.
The Conservative government has had eight years to address this crisis.
Health professionals know what the solutions are. Why arenโt the Conservatives taking action?
Thank you to the physicians, nurses and others on the frontline who continue to provide exceptional care despite immense pressures. #onpoli

The World Cup begins tomorrow, and many will watch the matches. Soccer reminds us of something we must not forget: life is not a race to show off on our own, but a path we learn to walk together. Anyone who does not know how to pass the ball, even if they have talent, has not yet understood the game. Anyone who does not know how to live with and for others has not yet understood life. #ApostolicJourney
Ever since I was a young girl I wanted to work in healthcare. In 2022, I left an incredible role as President of St Maryโs General Hospital to run for office. I couldnโt stand by and watch the damage the Conservatives were doing to healthcare in Ontario.
I joined Caryn on Breakfast Television to speak about the issues Ontarians are facing, and how I would invest in and strengthen our health system.
People have had enough of Conservative mismanagement of public services.
They are ready for change. People want a government that wakes up every day focused on ensuring every tax dollar delivers better outcomes and supports frontline services. Our movement is building across Ontario. Join us at https://t.co/zQB3DGVHFj.

Yesterday Donald Trump tripled the size of his personal political army inside the government. Illegally. And almost no one noticed.
Here's what happened:
He signed an order converting ~8,000 of the most senior career officials in government into employees he can fire for any reason, or no reason at all.
These aren't rando's. They're the directors, chiefs of staff, and the people who write the rules or decide who gets federal money, i.e. the lieutenants right below his political appointees.
Until yesterday, they answered to the law. Now they answer to him.
A president normally gets ~4,000 political appointees. People he can bring into government and fire at will. I was one of them at DHS. You serve at his pleasure, full stop -- so if you're gonna speak truth to power, you're prepared to quit (or get fired if he doesn't like it).
The rest of the federal government is PROTECTED from firing if they tell the truth.
But Trump just stripped those protections. Adding 8,000 more people to his personal army. Overnight. Without asking Congress.
With the stroke of a pen, those people now serve at the pleasure of the president. They're "his" people, whether they like it or not.
And the chilling effect is real. An official who can be fired this afternoon for "subversion of presidential directives" (the order's own words) doesn't need to be hand-picked to know what's expected of him or her.
The threat does all the work.
By the way, this order is illegal. The law only lets Trump reclassify jobs when "necessary" in exceptional circumstances. And this blows an 8,000-person hole in the merit hiring / firing system created by Congress.
Without permission, Trump has created a whole new category of stormtroopers inside the Executive Branch.
If this doesn't get challenged in court, you're going to see the U.S. government become a very different place.

As a single mom of three teenagers, I worry about whether or not my kids will be able to afford to live in California in the future, and I know I'm not alone. I'm running for Governor to bring down costs for families and make it actually affordable to live here.
National AccessAbility Week is a reminder that accessibility isn't an afterthought. It's foundational. Yet too many barriers remain โ from inaccessible transit stations like Mimico GO to everyday barriers faced by those with non-visible disabilities.
Iโm wearing red to show my support, to celebrate the achievements of persons with disabilities, and to pledge my commitment to a fully accessible and inclusive society.
When we build with accessibility in mind in our workplaces, schools, and communities, we make our spaces inclusive for everyone. That is the Ontario we need to build.
Californians deserve a tax structure that puts hardworking families before billionaires and giant corporations. That's why I've proposed a progressive corporate tax that would allow us to give tax relief to struggling businesses and eliminate state income taxes under $100,000.
When your children return to TDSB schools in September, their access to special education will be cut by $6.4 million.
Class sizes are already too big. Educational assistants have already been cut. And kidsโ needs are more complex than ever. After 8 years of Conservative cuts, teachers are already stretched to the limit, struggling to meet the needs of all students in their classrooms. And now they are cutting millions more.
Doug Fordโs new CEO is tasked to bring the TDSB into a โsurplusโ - and the only way he will be able to do that, is to cut educational services.
Ontario kids deserve better.
