Omg… Pensioners shouldn’t need a winter fuel allowance in the first place if state pension was enough to live. I don’t understand why everyone’s so angry when for YEARS we’ve all known the state pension in the UK, is the lowest in the western world. Now THAT’S SHAMEFUL.

What galls me is that we need to have allowances, top-ups & credits (all sounding like benevolent add ons), when, in fact, we should have decent living wages, pensions and well-functioning public services & infrastructure.
