@BradOlsenNZL True, it's regressive, but if you consider it jointly with the PT subsidy, I suspect that the benefit is fairly even. There's also not many better options. The infometrics suggestion of a "targeted payment" attracted significant media scrutiny (i.e. CoLP).

@EricCrampton Tax Working Group is throwing around this graph. Any idea how EMTRs are 55.7% on bank account income?Also it seems to indicate that a capital gains tax is needed to bring property on a level playing field with other investments, is that a logical takeaway from this?
