The systemic lowering of South Africa's developmental standards is a tragedy of institutional regression.
For a nation that once maintained the infrastructure, nuclear programs, and aerospace ambitions comparable to Western Europe, benchmarking performance against struggling regional peers like Malawi or Mozambique is a false victory.
No other SADC nation is falling from such a historic height; South Africa once stood head and shoulders above the continent.
Lowering the bar to celebrate merely being "better than our neighbours" is an acceptance of mediocrity.
With five of its metros now ranking in the global top ten for violent crime, and utility infrastructure in a state of freefall, celebrating high migration numbers does not signal economic attraction, it masks porous borders and a total collapse of immigration governance.

“I don’t do politics.”
This is an example of how politics will do you.
Something as simple as getting a learner’s or driver’s license? Service suspended because the city has run out of printing consumables. This is how a corrupt government affects you.

If treasury can find money to bailout failing SOE's, and if the can fund a case at the @CIJ_ICJ, and they can use taxpayers money for frivolous lawsuits and they can keep funding failed projects where money has been looted over and over, then they can find the money to investigate corruption so that South Africa can finally get justice. Money from the proceeds of crime should be used. The Madlanga commission has produced more results than most commissions have, and in a commendable period of time. The ANC has postponed the justice we are still awaiting in the Zondo Commission, and now the president wants to halt the Madlanga proceedings because a can of worms has been opened, and people are being held accountable.

South Africa's Starlink blockade is a cruel paradox, the people who need it most cannot log on to demand it. They are entirely invisible in a digital debate dominated by a privileged elite.
The loudest voices defending these regulatory barriers, shielding ANC aligned cadres and legacy ISP monopolies, speak from the comfort of urban fiber.
They suffer from a dangerous geographic myopia, forgetting that South Africa extends far beyond their immediate suburbs.
While elites debate policy, millions in the Eastern Cape, Limpopo, and rural KZN are left in the dark.
This blockade holds back schools, cripples rural entrepreneurs, and enforces a digital apartheid that keeps the disconnected permanently silenced.

Normalize this.
@elonmusk is the richest man in the world, yet consistently lives out his pro-child beliefs by bringing his own children into his daily work.
He is walking around Beijing China with his son Lil X
Kids aren’t burdens—they’re the future.
The latest unemployment figures provide much more reason for Ramaphosa to resign than Phala Phala.
Yet, he has the audacity to say that people who want him to resign are trying to "reverse the renewal of our society".
Where is this so-called "renewal" exactly?
It evidently exists nowhere other than in the imaginations of Ramaphosa and other political elites.
🚨 South Africa lost 345 000 jobs in just 3 months 🚨
Entrepreneurs and businesses are being strangled by red tape, unreliable basic services, failing ports and rail, and crime. ❌
SA does not have a lack of economic potential. We have a lack of political urgency. Where the DA governs, we focus on the basics that make grow the economy. Nationally, we will keep fighting for the reforms that can put millions more South Africans into work. 🇿🇦
I just hope voters get the message and give the current incompetent and corrup political coalition and administration in Johannesberg a strong kick up the arse in November to be replaced by a ruling council and admistration that actually cares. @helenzille
Dear Premier @Lesufi the reason @GautengProvince is using a lot of leased buildings and government buildings are standing empty, is because of CORRUPTION!!
That "8 facts" nail-in -the-coffin by Chaskalson was brilliant.
Mnisi: Firstly SC, those are NOT facts. Let me....
Chaskalson: Ok, don't explain, let's take them one by one.
Fact 1? 2? 3? 4? 5? 6? 7? 8?
Mnisi : Yes; Yes; Yes; Yes; Yes; Yes; Yes; Yes
