Pretoria businessman and farmer Jerry Boshoga (46) remains missing nearly two years after he was kidnapped in Centurion on 18 November 2024.

Boshoga disappeared after attending a meeting in Rooihuiskraal.

Following the kidnapping, his family received disturbing torture videos showing him pleading for his life, while kidnappers demanded a ransom that was initially set at R60-million before being reduced to R10-million.

The case has since been linked to the criminal underworld, with alleged crime boss Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala repeatedly named in investigations.

Although Matlala denied involvement, leaked WhatsApp messages and other evidence allegedly pointed to a planned kidnapping plot and a R1-million hit ordered on Boshoga before his disappearance.

The matter also featured prominently at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry and the Ad Hoc Committee where questions were raised about the handling of the investigation and the repeated transfer of the case docket between specialised police units.

Despite ongoing investigations, including cross-border efforts,
Boshoga is still missing.
