@MadimetjaErens Go look at where Hakimi was when Vini Scored...You will realise that he is not a defender. He is playing as a right winger, helping out in defence whereas Mudau plays right back and helping out in attack
@tbhseboka@JohnDoe_ZAR I would rather lose with South Africans than win with Non- South Africans.Imagine a player representing SA but can't speak any SA language(besides English), doesn't know SA provinces, doesn't even know the minister of Sports
@BalekaneM@lavidaNOTA Those French players were born/raised in France. They developed them.. Moroccan players were born/raised anywhere besides Morocco. They were not developed in Morocco.
@JohnDoe_ZAR And we beat Morocco to reach the Semis of the Afcon, played 0-0 with Nigeria in the Semis...I understand your point but I am also raising a point to say we are also on the right track. We just need to be consistent
@lukeUtd_52@uNdu_Mk2 5 at the back is not a problem...The problem is with those 3 in the middle, none of them is a creative Middlefielder...I think Broos should have sacrificed one of the strikers for a Zwane/Mofokeng if he really wanted to keep those 3
Dear #RulaniMokoena
I hope this message finds you well🙏
As a proud South African football supporter, I felt compelled to write to you after watching @BafanaBafana’s recent performance.
Firstly, I want to say that I believe South African football lost something special when @Masandawana parted ways with you. Your teams played with structure, bravery, tactical intelligence, and a clear identity which was translated to the national team. Those qualities seem to be fading, not only at club level but also within our national team.
Against Mexico, many of the Sundowns players showed that they operate at a much higher technical and tactical level than the rest of the squad. Their movement, decision-making, and composure on the ball stood out. Apart from Mbokazi, who impressed tremendously, there was a noticeable gap between the Sundowns players and many of their teammates.
I must also admit that I am increasingly concerned about the direction of the national team under Hugo Broos. While he deserves recognition for previous achievements, the football we are producing often lacks imagination, control, and tactical sophistication. As supporters, we want to see a South Africa that can compete with the best, not merely participate.
I sincerely wish you would return to South African football one day. In my view, Sundowns are slowly deteriorating from the standards that once made them the benchmark on the continent. Yesterday, at times, it felt as though we were playing “helicopter football” rather than the intelligent possession-based football that has brought success to both club and country.
Whether it is at Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, or even one day with Bafana Bafana, I pray that South African football finds its way back to coaches who prioritize identity, development, and modern football principles.
The next FIFA World Cup is in 2030, and we have a lot of work to do if we are serious about becoming a respected football nation. I remain hopeful that leaders like yourself can still play a role in shaping that future.
Thank you for your contribution to South African football, and I wish you every success wherever your coaching journey takes you but leader please come back home😔
Yours sincerely,
Themba
