Why are they pushing so hard for this asylum seeker process. Have you ever seen government so eager to deliver a service like this? Now they are putting an online system, within a month! Kanti who is putting pressure on them??
Parliament wants to amend the Employment Act to let refugees work in government jobs while millions of South Africans are unemployed. They care more about foreigners than us. South Africa wake up!
@mmkubayi Establish designated refugee camps where applicants can stay while their applications are processed.
Let South Africans have a say. Put the matter to a public vote and allow communities to participate in decisions that directly affect them.
Hi, @mmkubayi. The above tells us the theoretical part, please clarify below;
1. What is the reason for Government to act which such speed and haste despite the overwhelming cries against this process from the citizens?
2. What is the rush to have the asylum seekers captured while the Home Affairs system remains In shambles?
3. Our country is currently overwhelmed by illegal and undocumented foreigners, how does this order make the lives of South Africans better?
4. The current foreigner are contributing immensely and to crime and overpopulation of state facilities, why is government importing more foreigners? Is this not a sign that Government is out of touch with the realities of the country and challenges we face because of illegal foreigners?
5. Is the Constitution not supposed to protect South Africans first? If so, why is government forcing illegal foreigners on Citizens by force? The citizens protested against this action and instead of listening, you simply move the problem online? How is this solving the issues and listening to your citizens?
6. Government can’t handle the needs of South Africans so why add additional burdens from other countries? What studies has government done to understand the impact of this order? Please share the study and its numbers?
7. What happens to the asylum seekers while they wait for a response on their application? Where do they stay? How do they make money to sustain themselves?
8. Where do these illegal foreigners get medical care? At whose expense?
9. How does Home Affairs verify the location Of where the applicant is based via the online system? What if they are sitting abroad and applying?
10. These tickets you giving as charity, for how long are they valid?
11. Knowing the history of how incompetent and corrupt home affairs is, how do you know that this application will be handled in time?
12. As Home affairs has confirmed that 90% of applications are fraudulent and a blantant abuse of the system, how does the online system solve this problem?
13. Who must be forced to integrate with these military aged men who are armed while that have these slips protecting them?
14. Most of the military aged men who joined the lines are not coming from countries at war or facing persecution so why are they queuing in line as far as 8000km away from their homes? Is this not a big red flag for GovernmentZA to relook this process and satisfy the citizens concerns first before moving ahead with it?
15. Your communication says nothing about fixing our Porous borders or improving BMA abilities, so what is the way forward on solving for the root cause of the problem?
As an IMC, what is your comment on government spending more money on VIP Bodyguards for the elite then money allocated to the Border Management Agency? Is this not deliberate dereliction of duties by the President and his Executive?
@GovernmentZA The authorities doesn'teven know of how many of these so called asylumseekers are in the country. They doesn't even know where they stay and how are they are livingin the communities. Shame on you GNU GOVERNMENT.
@GovernmentZA@shaz_bantuza@mmkubayi my question is where is this efficiency when you must make things work for South Africans?
Today is 11 Oct, you pledge to have a fully functional, integrated, biofacial system tested, up and live to register foreigners on 10 November
Where is this efficiency for SAns?
How about the lawlessness of those who entered our country illegally? Now you are working tirelessly to grant them legal status. Is there any lawlessness that can surpass the act of entering and remaining in a country illegally? Yet you seem more concerned about protecting them than addressing the concerns of South African citizens.
What stops your government from taking those who are found to be in the country unlawfully to Lindela, where their cases can be processed in accordance with the law? We do not want immigration laws to be disregarded while our communities are left with unanswered concerns about safety and security.
Some of these individuals have been living in our communities, and we know the problems we have experienced. If you want to introduce an online process to regularise their status, why can’t that process be handled through Lindela for those lawfully detained there?
This government’s handling of illegal immigration is absolutely disgraceful!
Ntate Mashaba was the first political leader to stand up for March and March. We'll always remember your courage on the 4th of November. #PutSouthAfricansFirst🇿🇦
2026 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay’s commitment to universal legal principles and her firm moral compass are constants in a long career. Born into a family of Indian Tamil origin under apartheid in Durban, South Africa, Pillay became a lawyer and legal pioneer, confronting deep structural discrimination, segregation and exclusion. A common thread runs from her early work defending Nelson Mandela and others who stood up against apartheid to her service as a judge in some of the key international court cases of our time.
This year’s laureate has significantly enlarged the scope and impact of international law. She has served as a judge on the High Court in South Africa, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Court. She was the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and, until recently, she chaired the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Today Navi Pillay is a judge on the International Court of Justice in the case where Myanmar stands accused of genocide.
In historic international court cases, she has shown that legal measures can help prevent acts of war and violence. Navi Pillay has also contributed to strengthen the institutions of international law. Her independence, expertise and steadfastness have made her one of the most respected international jurists of our time.

Today, I watched 2 disturbing videos involving South African citizens, one in Soweto & another in Johannesburg CBD both alleging that foreign nationals were carrying large amounts of cash & that there is proof of Home Affairs officials selling documents.
What is more disturbing is that nothing will come of these allegations, just like the concerns over illegal firearms carried by illegal foreigners & being used to shoot South Africans, where is the accountability?
How long must our people wait for action? 🇿🇦
Home Affairs cannot even locate where the “asylum seekers” are in the country. They get their permits and get released into the communities, and Home Affairs relies on the goodwill of the applicants should there be any issue on their status.
