Both take a real life concept and greatly embellish and dramatize it. The characters dress and act much more extravagantly (and often impractically) than what would be allowed or accepted for their real life counterparts. And of course, everyone has weird names

Umamusme is kinda similar to Ace Attorney if you think about it
Both are set it a somewhat realistic modern world with inexplicable supernatural elements which are acknowledged by everyone yet not really questioned (spirit channeling/the 3 goddesses stuff and the uma dream plane)
