Today we remember one of the world's greatest scientists: Marie Skłodowska Curie.

Curie dedicated her life to science. She was the first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, the first person to be awarded twice and is still the only person to receive the prize in two different scientific fields.

Curie died #OTD in 1934.

Yesterday the convent and the burial place of Saint Patrick himself in Downpatrick was reduced to ashes.

Locals say it was arson. The resting place of the patron saint of Ireland set on fire, and the legacy media has nothing to say. The politicians have nothing to say.

A Catholic site tied to one of the most important figures in the history of these islands burns, and you get silence.

Today, we directed the launch of the second edition of the Dubai Mallathon, the first initiative of its kind globally to transform Dubai’s shopping malls into vibrant sports and community destinations throughout the summer.

From 15 June to 15 September 2026, malls across Dubai will open daily for walking, running, and a range of sports activities. Open to all, the initiative aims to encourage a healthier, more active lifestyle by making fitness accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

We invite residents and visitors alike to join the Dubai Mallathon and take part in its diverse programmes and activities. Together, we can make movement a daily habit and wellbeing a shared goal.

As part of my official visit to  Sweden, I visited Lovable, one of the fastest-growing companies in the development of applications and websites, specialising in AI solutions.

I also visited KTH Innovation,  the Royal Institute of Technology's innovation arm, where I gained first-hand insight into its integrated approach to supporting the innovation ecosystem. The centre fosters creativity and helps transform ideas and scientific research into startups and ventures with tangible economic and social impact.

These visits highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration with leading global academic and innovation institutions and learning from best practices in innovation, entrepreneurship, and the adoption of advanced technologies, in line with the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and future-focused industries.

I met with leaders of Sweden's Ministry of Health and Social Affairs as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening partnerships and exchanging expertise in healthcare, social welfare, and integrated care. 

We believe that investing in people’s health and well-being is an investment in the future of societies. With this vision in mind, we discussed opportunities for cooperation in developing more sustainable and resilient healthcare and social welfare systems, and explored how innovation and proactive policies can help enhance quality of life and build healthier and more prosperous communities.
