This week, we hosted highly attended men’s and women’s computer classes, where participants learned how to set up an email address and confidently log in and out.

It was an honour to welcome the Worshipful Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Anthony Kelly, to ACAA’s Feltham office. The Mayor spent time with our staff, volunteers, and community, and recognised the vital role charities like ACAA play in supporting integration and community cohesion.

Yesterday marked the launch of Afghan Radio UK, bringing together community members, partners and supporters to recognise an important step for community-led media in the UK.

Speakers included Cllr Katherine Dunne, Dr Nooralhaq Nasimi MBE, Richard Hilton and Barra Fitzgibbon.

Last week, we hosted two Pro Bono Immigration Advice Clinics at our Feltham centre, creating opportunities for around 30 individuals to access immigration advice. We are committed to ensuring advice is accessible, timely and of high quality for those who need it most.

Last Friday, the Afghanistan & Central Asian Association unveiled a new official street sign outside the Griffin Centre in Feltham, installed by Hounslow Highways with approval from Hounslow Council to help residents find our services more easily.

Last week, Dr. Nooralhaq Nasimi MBE joined an insightful panel discussion on “Promoting the Psychosocial Wellbeing of Refugees, Migration, and Humane Systems.”

On Friday, we hosted another pro bono immigration advice clinic in partnership with Duncan Lewis Solicitors. Our beneficiaries were able to access free, expert guidance on asylum, visas, and a range of immigration matters.

Helping refugees start and grow businesses is central to ACAA’s integration work. Many we support ran successful businesses in their home countries but face barriers in the UK, including language and complex paperwork.

Yesterday, ACAA took part in the University of West London Social Hackathon, where students collaborated to support ACAA across areas like fundraising and marketing. It was inspiring to hear their ideas, especially given the limited time they had to develop them.
