Happy New Year! I had the wonderful opportunity to write a perspective on social media as a trainee and physician for the Urology Times. Check it out! https://t.co/aVJCA7jwZs @UrologyTimes
If something has changed when you pee, don’t ignore it.
Getting up more at night.
Pushing or straining.
Even blood in the urine.
In this clip, Maheetha Bharadwaj, MD explains why these changes are worth paying attention to.
These symptoms are easy to brush off. But they’re worth paying attention to.
Sometimes it’s something manageable.
Sometimes it needs a closer look.
Either way, it’s worth getting checked.
If something has changed, talk with your doctor or see a urologist.
There is nothing wrong with saying,
“Something feels off. I want to get this checked.”

Social media isn’t just entertainment, it’s a powerful tool for education, advocacy, and equity. @MaheethaB and @GabeCanales share how short‑form video can amplify physician voices, combat misinformation, reach diverse patient communities, and inspire the next generation of urologists.
A compelling reminder that advocacy happens beyond the clinic.

Maheetha, a fourth‑year urology resident, is heading to #AUASummit26 to fight for patients caught in harmful prior authorization delays. Nearly a third of patients wait weeks for approval on procedures their doctors say are necessary, and many end up abandoning care entirely. That’s why advocacy isn’t optional. It’s essential.
