KIIT No. 1 in India in 3 SDGs in THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026

Happy to share that KIIT has achieved another proud milestone in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, securing the 101–200 global rank band and 4th position overall in India.

KIIT had a very humble beginning, but it has made its mark globally through rankings, accreditations and quality education. Today, KIIT stands with confidence among the reputed universities of the world. In India too, it has made a significant impact as a leading university.

KIIT has secured:

• 1st position in India in three SDGs — SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions.

• 2nd position in India in two SDGs — SDG 9: Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, and SDG 15: Life on Land.

• 3rd position in India in three SDGs — SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 6: Clean Water & Sanitation, and SDG 7: Affordable & Clean Energy.

All remaining SDGs are within the Top 10 in India.

Slow and steady wins the race, and this journey of KIIT proves that sincere effort, discipline and faith always bring results. This recognition belongs to all our students, faculty, staff and well-wishers of KIIT & KISS. We will continue to work with humility and responsibility for a better and more sustainable world.

On International Widows’ Day, my heart goes back to my own mother.

Society has developed in many ways, and with time the attitude of people towards widowed women has also changed to some extent. But still, the struggle of a widow has not fully reduced. I have seen this pain from very close.

My mother became a widow at the age of only 39. I was just 4 years old, and my younger sister was only one month old. She had 7 children to raise. There was no support from any corner. I have seen how difficult it is for a woman to lead her life with dignity while facing struggle, loneliness, responsibility and negative people around her.

But my mother never gave up. With strong determination, will power, discipline and her own wisdom, she brought up all her children and gave us education. Today, whatever we brothers and sisters are in society is only because of her sacrifice, courage and careful management of life.

From my childhood till today, I have always had deep respect for widowed women. I have always tried to extend my support to them wherever possible, because I know their pain through my own mother’s life.

Today, I respectfully salute all widowed women for their strength, patience and silent sacrifice. I also bow my head before my mother, who is no more with me physically, but whose blessings continue to guide me every moment.

Heartiest congratulations to the Indian Women’s Hockey Team for winning the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup in Auckland by defeating New Zealand 2–0.

Our daughters played with discipline, courage and teamwork. This win also takes India back to the FIH Pro League. My best wishes to them for the days ahead.

The approval of Kavach on 631 route kilometres of East Coast Railway at ₹270 crore is an important step for safer rail travel in Odisha and eastern India.

This indigenous train protection system will strengthen safety, improve operational efficiency and give more confidence to passengers.

On Olympic Day, I extend my warm wishes to all sportspersons, coaches, students, sports lovers and especially our KIIT & KISS students who have made us proud as Olympians.

The Olympic spirit teaches us that sports is not only about winning medals. It is about discipline, hard work, friendship, respect and the courage to keep moving forward.

At KIIT & KISS, we have always tried to create an environment where children and young athletes get the right facilities, coaching and care to dream bigger. When I see our students play with confidence and sincerity, I feel very happy from within.

May the Olympic spirit continue to inspire every child to play, learn, grow and never give up.

Deeply pained by the tragic fire incident at a coaching centre in Aliganj, Lucknow.

It is heartbreaking to know that young students lost their precious lives. For any parent, losing a young child is the greatest pain in life. No words can reduce the grief of the families.

Young lives are priceless for the family, society and the nation. Such painful incidents should never happen again. The safety of children and young students must always be our highest priority.

My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, and I pray for the speedy recovery of all those injured. May God give strength to the families to bear this unbearable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed souls.

Yoga is Bharat’s precious gift to the world. It gives strength to the body, peace to the mind and balance to life. In today’s busy world, Yoga is very important for good health, discipline and healthy ageing. I feel happy that it has become a global movement and people across the world are accepting it as a way of healthy and peaceful living.

Happy to share that KIIT Deemed to be University has signed 9 international MoUs with leading universities from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Poland, Mexico and Georgia during the IAUP Conference 2026 held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Proud of my 20 lovable KIIT and KISS students for performing Shakespeare’s plays in Santali language today in Bhubaneswar, before a distinguished gathering of respected guests from different fields.

After their return from Romania, they had performed at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, before ambassadors, diplomats and other eminent guests. Today, they once again made all of us proud in Bhubaneswar. Everyone loved and appreciated their performance so much.

For me, this is a matter of great happiness. Our children are taking Santali language, tribal culture and the pride of Odisha to such respected platforms.

Stone Music Performance.

Happy to welcome Mr Tokio Hasegawa Ji, Director of Mithila Museum, Japan, along with twelve musicians and performers to KIIT today for the Stone Music India Tour 2026.

Mr Hasegawa Ji has spent many years building a beautiful cultural bridge between India and Japan through art, music and the preservation of Mithila paintings. His love for Indian culture is truly inspiring.

Our students and staff had the opportunity to witness their unique Stone Music performance at KIIT. Such programmes make education more meaningful, because students learn not only from books, but also from art, culture, creativity and human connection.

I thank Mr Hasegawa Ji and the entire team from Japan for visiting KIIT. May the friendship between India and Japan continue to grow stronger through culture, music and love.

Happy to welcome a five-member delegation from Newcastle University, UK, led by Professor Nigel Harkness, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, to KIIT and KISS as part of our ongoing collaboration.

We had meaningful discussions on academics, research, innovation, sustainability, environment, agriculture, engineering and future opportunities for our students and faculty.

They visited KIIT and KISS campuses, interacted with our faculty members and appreciated the infrastructure, academic environment and the work being done here.

I am happy that KIIT and Newcastle University are continuing this journey with a shared thought for knowledge, research and service to society. My sincere thanks to the entire delegation for visiting KIIT and KISS.

During my one-day visit to Switzerland, I felt very happy to meet my dear friend and brother, Mr Fabio Azevedo, President of FIVB.

We share a very warm and close relationship. Our discussion was full of love, ideas and hope for the future of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.

We spoke about how volleyball can reach new heights, how more opportunities can be created for young players, and how KIIT and KISS can contribute more to the global volleyball movement.

I am grateful to Mr Fabio and the FIVB family for their trust, affection and encouragement. Together, we will continue to work for the growth of volleyball in India and across the world.
