🍃 ETHCC Cannes hits different. Tiny town, every venue within a 5-min walk, Côte d'Azur beaches between sessions, great food everywhere.

No Ubers, no logistics stress. Just walk.

What I Saw on the Ground 🧵
> France is a DeFi country. @Morpho @aave and ~90% of the projects were DeFi protocols or institutions. Most were there to raise funds, not retail.
> TradFi is entering for real. Banks, PE, real estate, moving assets on-chain to distribute. Apollo, Figure, and other heavyweights are deploying capital. The DeFi x TradFi convergence is no longer a slide in a pitch deck.
> Mostly Western crowd. Outside of @pharos_network' event, very few Eastern faces, but the quality of connections at every side event was exceptionally high.
> Market mood is bearish, but not as bearish as Asia. Attendance ~50% of last year. The ones who stayed are here to build, not to flip.
> Most teams I met: heavy on engineering, light on BD/partnerships (institutional & gov-focused), almost invisible on marketing & ops, some had 1-2 people, <5% of headcount. That tells you where the industry's priorities are right now.
> Capital is still looking, but ticket sizes are smaller and diligence is heavier. Post-Drift hack @DriftProtocol LPs are even more reluctant to park funds in on-chain DeFi.

My read: we're in the phase where infra gets quietly built while attention is elsewhere. The teams surviving this cycle with lean ops and real tech will set the terms for the next one.
