Is this real? @XCreators omg…!

[Daily Turkic @DailyTurkic]

X’s creator team decided Daily Turkic does not make a positive contribution to the platform.

Daily Turkic started almost five years ago as a fan project. We started it because the Turkic world was barely on social media.

We tried to remain independent and fair, even when it wasn't always easy. We pushed back against Turkophobia, not because we wanted to attack anyone, but because we didn't think our history and our people should constantly be defined by others.

We wanted to tell our own story, bring our own perspective into the conversation, and give the Turkic world a voice of its own.

We always believed the Turkic world could be connected in a way that had nothing to do with borders, armies or old political ideas.

We wanted to build that connection through people. Through culture, language, history, humor, and simply making hundreds of millions of people who share related languages and so many common values feel a little less distant from one another.

Daily Turkic was our small attempt to make that world feel more connected.

When we began, “Turkic” was not even a mainstream word online. We are not saying we made it one. We were just there while it grew, and we kept showing up.

We really did a great job most of the time. We spent hours digging through online archives, drawing maps from scratch, and bringing old stories back from books that nobody was opening anymore.

Our maps, graphics, and old photographs, which we spent hours digging out of archives, still circulate across social media. And so do many of the memes we created ourselves. We found, researched, drew, and made these things here.

We also post the fun stuff. Viral posts. Arguments. Things that everyone sees because they spark a thought. That’s how you reach people who would never open an informative post.

Call those posts low-effort if you want. It is a fair name. They still take a sense of timing. We never treated this place as something to spam. We also put original stories here for years.

A few weeks ago we helped push the Nomad Games into a wider conversation. That is one. There are many we cannot even remember now.

None of this was ever about getting paid. What felt good was something much simpler: knowing that the platform itself saw some value in the work.

That is why the Creator Rewards decision hit differently. X put a program in front of us, made us feel like we belonged, then took it away and acted like we were never meant to be there. That back-and-forth leaves a mark.

For a long time, that sense of recognition was part of what kept the spark alive. Right now, that spark is gone. We don't have the same energy we had before, and honestly, we don't know what comes next.

This is not a goodbye. We are not disappearing. We just need to think more carefully about what this project is, and what it is worth continuing for, if the house we built it in no longer counts it as original.

The Turkic world is still bigger than most people think. That part did not change.
