The devastation witnessed tdy in #Irpin is beyond words. Targeting civilians is a war crime and totally unacceptable. The perpetrators must be held accountable. @DmytroKuleba
So, air raid sirens all over #Ukraine. Russians again fired missiles at our cities tonight. Today is particularly hard, especially after the news from #Azovstal. Very hard. But we stand, we resist #UkraineUnderAttaсk#StopRussiaNow
Russia struggles to advance and suffers terrible losses. Thus the desperate missile terror across Ukraine. But we are not afraid and the world should not be afraid either. More sanctions on Russia. More heavy weapons for Ukraine. Russia’s missile terrorism must be punished.
Russians killed another person I knew, another journalist. I met Oleksandr Makhov in Sloviansk several years ago. He was one of the best Ukrainian war reporters. He joined the army after Russian full-scale invasion and was killed in combat near Izium. He was so young. RIP
The embassy team is back where we belong: in @Kyiv, supporting #Ukraine and its heroic citizens as they defend the freedom of their country and freedom in #Europe. Слава Україні!
Putin has escalated his attacks on civilians in Ukraine, so the free world must escalate sanctions on Russia. Maintaining the status quo is both immoral & ineffective. Sanctions must ratchet up continuously until Putin ends his slaughter and destruction.
Great piece from @olgatokariuk making clear that Ukrainians will determine their own future. She represents a generation whose “determination, resilience and courage..scare Vladimir Putin the most.”

As 🇷🇺 now talks about some legal guarantees for what it regards as its security, we should remember the Budapest memorandum signed in 1994 which committed also 🇷🇺 “to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine.” @SwedeninATOSCE
