@wesleytypes@ElderScrolls@bethesda I really wanna play this game but it’s just way too old for me so it feels too much of a drawback in terms of graphics, gameplay etc. I wish I played it way back when - the same with Oblivion, especially given Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game 😔
I’ve seen a lot of talk about the combat in Witcher 3. A lot of the discourse on here has been calling it bad but I’m not sure I agree with it 🤔
Whilst, granted, these enemies weren’t much of a challenge, the combat was pretty satisfying and flowed nicely. This is also something I’m seeing with a fair few fights.
I wouldn’t say the combat is amazing; we have games like Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei that take that crown. I’d say Witcher 3 combat is solid and satisfying but nothing to get excited about. For a game approaching 11 years old, I really can’t complain 🤝🏾
I really want to know where the criticism comes from - I’m wondering if it’s because I’m still fairly early on in the game (level 17 atm)
At what point does the combat start dropping off?
PS. Folgets will never be fun to fight 😠😂
I’ve just discovered Game Hints on the PS5 and they’re pretty interesting. Whilst it’s more than likely not something I’ll be relying on for any future gameplay, this quest on the Witcher 3 suits the feature perfectly as I had no idea I was meant to read the script for the play 😅
(Context: There’s a quest in which a play is written and performed but instead of the play being presented through a simple cutscene, I had to actually choose which lines to say and there were right and wrong answers)
Being able to pin the hints to the side whilst playing is also a good addition! Never really looked into this PlayStation feature but I guess now I’ll at least have a look when I get a notification that game hints are available 🤔
@SynthPotato Yeah it really is sad - the games were so fun to play but everybody other than the players said the series was bad (it was good until Legion)
And then regardless of game mode, there’s never enough players for a full lobby so I have to wait to play. About 5-7 mins from loading up the game before I’m in a match
The fact that Battlefield 6 never connects to the servers first time (PS5) is so annoying. It takes about 3 minutes of trying to then display the error message and then it works the second time round 😡
*Spoiler*
As much as I didn’t really like the Baron, I kinda feel some type of way about the way his arc ended.
I thought I’d be heroic and save the children as I didn’t really trust The 3 Crones so I decided to free the tree spirit. I didn’t really care about the village as I hadn’t really spoke to any of the villagers but I interacted with the kids and Johnny was a pretty likeable character.
My rationale seemed fair but seeing the impact it had on his wife and how that played out was a moment I’ll remember for the remainder of this Witcher 3 playthrough. What impact would The Baron have had on the rest of the story? How would Anna maybe be able to assist later down the line? What’s going to happen with their daughter? I guess I’ll just have to keep playing and maybe one day, start another playthrough to find out.
Seeing Geralt react to the decision of choosing the “lesser evil” and not knowing its consequences was a nice touch. I feel like I hadn’t cared much about him until now but this human side of him added another layer of complexity.
Knowing a seemingly unimportant decision in the game can have a massive consequence is really making me second guess everyone I do in the game - that’s really keeping me engaged.
So far, I’m really into The Witcher 3, albeit 13 years later 😅
Okay I think I might actually be into Witcher 3. At the moment, I’m enjoying the world, side quests and contracts and doing them instead of the main quest. This is that whole, “I want to play the game” feeling instead of the “I’m just here to complete the main quest” that I’ve been looking for for quite a while. Let’s see how it goes 👀
@amortition@JamieMoranUK Nice! I’ve got all 3 ready to play - if I jump straight into 2, will I be at a loss by not having played the first one or is it not linear like that?
That’s refreshing to hear! Didn’t know they were that good, one of my friends back in the day used to talk about it but that’s all I heard. What’s the thing that wants you to keep playing, story or gameplay?
Also I’ve started yet but will jump on later, looking forward to getting some content on my Elgato too 🤞🏾
Does anybody else get this annoying bug? PlayStation says it’s unable to install a game due to insufficient space.
I press to free up some space but nothing happens, I’m not able to delete anything.
It then tells me I’ve freed up enough space to resume the installation.
The loop repeats.
Quite annoying 😅
Seeing Battlefield 6 drop players is a weird one for me. Yes it’s a very good FPS game and the best one we’ve had in years. I feel as though they couldn’t have done anything more to keep players. In my opinion, the declining player count is reflective of something else - something more normal.
From my own perspective, I simply just don’t have the time to lock into a game like that due to the casual nature in which I play games. If I had the time and energy and wanted to play a First Person Shooter game, then BF6 would definitely be my choice.
But the thing is, as a casual player, which could be reflective of the majority of players, there are simply much more causal games or games of different genres that appeal to the intermittent playing nature. Picking up and playing passively is so common but unfortunately not a play style that suits BF6.
We’ve also had a fair few really good games drop since the Battlefield 6 release which naturally takes our time and attention. Some of these have long a gripping stories that keep us coming back - more appealing than the naturally repetitive nature of a shooter game.
Maybe that’s why the player count is declining. Battlefield 6 is far from a bad game. We just have lives that take us away from immersive FPS games and bring us to slower and more intimate RPG games - and that’s if we even find the time to jump on.
Battlefield 6, you are an amazing game. Most of us will return. And when we do, we’ll love every second of it.
@ImRealityZ All current gen consoles (can’t speak for the Series S) are easily 1080p @ 60fps, it’s usually upscaling and stuff like that with higher resolutions that results in 30fps. Generally I’d like to say it’s 4k @ 30 (upscaled) or 2K @ 60 on the PS5 Pro
@FosterGamesUK@lastchalice One of the better things in gaming, especially when you realise how much time and effort was put into content that could’ve easily been missed!
