The VVAAN’s biggest strength is its story. A fresh folklore-fantasy world that feels rooted, unexplored and distinctly Indian. The Van Devi legend, Bhutakkas, forest mystery and supernatural elements come together to create a world that feels both familiar and completely new.

The Bihar setting and the seamless use of Chhath, traditions and faith give the film a strong cultural identity, while the fantasy and larger-than-life treatment take the story to another level. The film beautifully balances Bhakti and Shakti, while also exploring the thin line between belief and reality.

What really works is the mix of genres. Folklore, mystery, humour, romance, action and adventure all come together as a proper mainstream entertainer. The first-half humour is surprisingly good, while the mystery keeps unfolding and the forest itself becomes an important part of the story.

Sidharth Malhotra is in a WHOLE NEW AVTAAR… He brings energy, intensity, action and vulnerability to the character. His pairing with Tamannaah Bhatia feels fresh, while their romance adds an emotional layer to the larger mystery.

Suniel Grover stands out with a very interesting character and a genuinely cool reveal, while Sidharth and Maniesh Paul’s camaraderie delivers some fun moments. Shweta Tiwari and Anup Soni also add strength to the supporting cast.

Visually, the film goes big with its scale, VFX and animation. The Bhuttakas’ backstory, especially, is beautifully presented and feels refreshingly different, almost like anime meets Indian folklore!

The film also delivers a simple message about nature and conservation without making it preachy.

Overall, #TheVVAAN is a fresh, entertaining and visually expansive big-screen experience that brings Indian folklore to life with plenty of mystery, emotion, humour and adventure.
