JUST IN: GOV. DAUDA LAWAL LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER AIRPORT OPERATIONS IN ZAMFARA WITH LANDMARK HAJJ AVIATION DEAL
In a significant move set to transform aviation and religious tourism in the state, Governor Dauda Lawal is ushering in a new dawn for Zamfara.
The Zamfara State Government has formally secured and signed an operational license agreement with Umza Aviation Services Limited, granting the company the mandate to manage and oversee all takeoff and landing operations for aircraft transporting this year’s pilgrims from Gusau International Airport.
This development marks a major milestone in the state’s history, as it signals the commencement of airport operations for the first time. It also highlights the government’s efforts to enhance aviation infrastructure and ensure safer, more efficient air travel for pilgrims ahead of the Hajj season.
The initiative reflects the governor’s commitment to strengthening critical public services and positioning Zamfara as a more organized and forward-looking state.

Gov. Buni to Flag Off Distribution of 50,000 Bags of Grains to Vulnerable Households in Yobe
Yobe State Governor, Hon. (Dr) Mai Mala Buni, CON, will flag off the distribution of 50,000 bags of grains to vulnerable households across the state. This initiative is part of his administration's intervention to ease economic hardship for farmers and families during the pre-harvest season.
The flag-off ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow Monday at the August 27th Stadium in Damaturu by 2:30 pm with beneficiaries representing all 17 local government areas.
The program is designed to cushion the impact of rising food costs and support communities until the new harvest is fully realized.
Arrangements have been made to ensure the distribution process is both transparent and fair, guaranteeing that aid reaches those who need it most.
