Meet our colleague, Fatema.
In the crowded alleyways of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, she's leading conversations on justice and access, mediating difficult discussions and ensuring women can claim their rights.

A large fire🔥broke out overnight in one of the Rohingya refugee camps, destroying/damaging 500+ shelters & camp infrastructure.
Heroic efforts of #refugee volunteers & 🇧🇩 fire service contained the flames and prevented injuries, but the damage is extensive👇

A devastating fire broke out in Camp 16 in Cox’s Bazar last night, affecting #RohingyaRefugees. ~500 shelters, 11 learning & ~100 WASH facilities, & 30 small shops were destroyed. Families lost homes, education & livelihoods.@NRC 🇧🇩 are on the ground. 📷 from Humanitarian group.
On #WorldToiletDay, #Rohingya#refugee families in the 🇧🇩 camps continue to struggle for safe, dignified access to sanitation. No one should have to risk their health or dignity just to use a toilet.

Protection risks are rising. Aid is shrinking. #Rohingya refugees must not be forgotten.
We are on the ground in #Bangladesh with the Protection Consortium, ensuring access to protection services and helping communities build resilience.

After so many broken promises, Rohingya refugee survival is on the line in today’s UN High-Level Meeting.
Impossible repatriation, collapsing food aid, surging evictions, and underfunded education threaten dignity and lives.
Donors must act now to prevent irreversible harm.
The ask is clear:
✅ No forced return
✅ Fund food, education, youth skills, mental & physical health
✅ Uphold housing & legal rights
Survival for a people is on the line.
The UN Commission of Inquiry has concluded, on reasonable grounds, that genocide is being committed in Gaza.
These findings are not abstract. They reflect what our colleagues endure and witness every day in Gaza City.
Nearly 90% of Gaza’s people have been forced from one place to the next. Families, including our own staff, flee under fire, barefoot, injured, carrying children, with nowhere safe to go.
The Commission also found starvation is being used as a weapon. Famine is spreading, already taking lives.
Our teams and partners have seen water trucks directly targeted in Gaza City and destroyed, cutting off life-saving services.
People shot while trying to get food.
Families left with nothing.
These are not accidents of war.
International law is clear: civilians must be protected and aid must reach them. States have a duty to stop genocide.
We will continue to press relentlessly for access to deliver life-saving aid.
i am sharing this post with a quote from a young Rohingya Refugee living in the camp of Bangladesh, " 8 years is not just a number, we lived 8 years, 8 years is like 80 years"...
We mark 8 long years of Rohingya displacement.
Over 1.2 million people remain in limbo in Bangladesh – denied rights, and facing aid cuts and fading hope.
The many promises of everlasting solidarity from regional, European, North American, and Gulf powers have been largely broken.
We call for renewed action, protection, funding and durable solutions for all those affected.
At our latest #Rohingya#Protection Consortium roundtable, we shared alarming findings: rising internal displacement in camps & new refugee arrivals indicates growing insecurity. Refugees are fleeing protection threats. Coordinated & integrated delivery model remains essential.
