I knew her personally yet I chose not to post a single tweet about it, not even to share the news of her passing, because I understand the responsibility that comes with such situations.

I will repeat what I have told others over the past few hours, when a mistake is made, compounding it with further missteps only makes things worse. It’s far better to acknowledge it, take responsibility, and correct it.

If people like @evattey, @faya_i and @MohamedNasheed used their X accounts to talk about MACL, HDC, MTCC, Fenaka and WAMCO corruption with the same intensity they give Muizzu’s cabinet shuffle, ordinary Maldivians would be far better informed about the real rot in this gov.
Instead, they’re amplifying talk of a caretaker gov and loss of confidence.

What’s happening is pure theatre. Cabinet ministers didn’t resign out of principle, they resigned at Muizzu’s direct request to manufacture a distraction. These are his loyalists. They act on his instructions. No genuine loss of confidence has occurred.

This is a classic diversion tactic. While the public has been relentlessly exposing MTCC and MACL corruption, scandals that are hammering Muizzu’s already collapsing popularity, he’s engineering a spectacle to make himself look like a strong, decisive leader.

With the Supreme Court now vacating the Addu Hithadhu North seat, Muizzu desperately needs Maldivians to forget his election defeats and the mounting corruption evidence. Don’t fall for it. Stay focused on the real issues.
