๐จ๐๏ธ| Thomas Tuchel reacts to Manchester Cityโs financial breaches during his time at Chelsea.
๐ฃ๏ธโIf what has now been established about Manchester City happened during the period when we were competing for the Premier League, then of course you have to look back and ask questions.
In the 2021/22 season, Chelsea were competing at the highest level and we believed we had a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title. We finished third, but Manchester City were the champions. Chelsea should have been the team lifting that Premier League trophy that year.
At the time, nobody could tell us that the team we were competing against had been found guilty of financial breaches covering the same broader period. We simply prepared for the competition, followed the rules and tried to win football matches.
Now, after the findings, I think it is fair to ask whether the competition was truly equal. If the rules were broken in a way that helped build or maintain a squad capable of competing at that level, then clubs who competed against them deserve answers.
Chelsea should have had a genuine opportunity to fight for that Premier League trophy. I cannot change what happened on the pitch, but if those breaches had a sporting impact, then the consequences should not simply stop with a fine.
If Manchester City gained an advantage during the period we were competing with them, then the Premier League has a responsibility to examine what that meant for the clubs who finished behind them. Chelsea should not simply accept that everything that happened during that period was completely fair.โ
๐จ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐: This are the list of punishment Manchester city may face after being found guilty of 115 Premier League charges relating to financial breaches.
1. Removed from the premier league (they will start all over from league two)
2. Strip off of all Domestic trophies won (Premier league, FA cup and Carabao cup)
3. Huge fine and points deduction
4. Ban on transfers for 5 straight seasons.
๐จ Thomas Tuchel breaks silence on Arsenal vs Chelsea game and Arsenal style of play:
๐ฃ๏ธ โArsenal are not playing an entertaining brand of football, and honestly, itโs something the Premier League needs to look into. If teams are allowed to keep getting away with this approach, the game will become increasingly frustrating to watch, and it will only create more hostility between clubs.
Arsenal have always been a club I respected, but Iโve genuinely lost some of that respect because of the way they play. They are extremely good at what Iโd call โghost foulsโ โ those little off-the-ball fouls that referees somehow overlook, as well as some blatant ones that everyone can see.
The foul on Morgan Rogers was completely unnecessary. Rogers wasnโt even on the ball, yet the challenge was made simply to disrupt the attack, and somehow there was no real punishment. Konsa did something similar to Joรฃo Pedro โ why are you literally hugging Pedro instead of trying to win the ball?
And then there was Gabriel on Lautaro Martรญnez. These are not footballing actions; they are deliberate attempts to stop attacks by any means necessary.
There were far too many questionable decisions in yesterdayโs game against Chelsea, and what makes it worse is how often referees seem to overlook these incidents.
Yes, Arsenal call it โset-piece footballโ and being physically clever, but there has to be a line. If you want to be recognised as champions, then act like champions. Football should be about competing, not finding every possible way to disrupt the opposition.
The biggest problem isnโt even Arsenal themselves โ itโs that referees keep allowing it. And if this continues, the game we love is going to become increasingly unpleasant to watch.โ
