@PatrickURGenius@Ben_Deniston I love the tractor beam idea. The problem is, that would in turn pull the earth toward mars since we're not anchored to our orbit. Would probable meet up somewhere near the asteroid belt :)
@lonestar_spirit@Ben_Deniston@PrometheanActn you do, but the problem is you need to get to relativistic speeds to get anywhere quickly. Then, you need an equal amount of energy to slow you back down.
@Ben_Deniston Um, yeah, the power and containment field for fusion would weigh more than anything currently available...and your net energy, if achievable, would be small. Unless you plan on a sun sized ship, you're nowhere close to this being an option.
@konstructivizm This video is AI-generated/simulation. Artemis II was a distant flyby (~4,000+ miles away); the Moon appeared roughly basketball-sized at arm's length to the crew. Real crew photos show a wide lunar disk, not this low-altitude window view.
@samwafula306@javilopen They are still in the strong Earth gravity well. Just like throwing a rock straight up, it slows down then falls back to earth. This is the same principle for this test mission. The velocity will increase as the Moon pulls them closer, then slingshot back toward earth.
@elonmusk I love this, not because he's a trillionaire and people expect it, but because he really cares. Make it a total tax deduction off the amount he pays, kind a directed tax payment. Even open it to others to help pay DHS etc. Bypass the slim-ball democrats trying to ruin the US
@JOKAQARMY1 Not even close. It obviously isn't traveling at the speed of light, but rather just the reflection of rockets in the previous smoke. Have you even seen a laser beam? A green spotlight would be more impressive than this.smh
@TansuYegen there are 86,000 seconds per day so that's 86 million a day. It would take over 115 years to reach 10 billion, not to mention loss of interest. Take the 10B and you're more than set. (oh 90k/5min is only 26million a day) :)
@iris_seraphina This is so dumb..never happened. American 186 is a dedicated flight between Cancun and Phoenix, not Miami. Calls are all off, doubtful they could diagnose appendicitis, emergencies would be cleared, etc etc. I hate all this fake crap.
