“Jesus is Lord” doesn’t mean Jesus is controlling everything and we do nothing.
“Jesus is Lord” means Jesus is our King and the way he has chosen to reign is through his people.
For me “Jesus is Lord” motivates me to social action, and not just me but the entire church.
On #WorldMentalHealthDay, so many families continue to struggle.
All across our country, I hear from families who feel like they’re failing. You're not failing. And, you're not alone.
We need more support to address the unmet mental health needs and trauma of this pandemic.
Where your joy is, there your hope is.
Where your anger is, there your hope is.
Where your frustration is, there your hope is.
Where your fulfillment is, there your hope is.
Where your vindication is, there your hope is.
I am prolife to the marrow of my bones. I am prolife from conception to the grave &, therefore, I find no home in this 2 party system. But I am 100% positive as a follower of Jesus that, when I see His face, I want to have stood against injustice and stood up for the oppressed.
Reflecting on pastoring for 22 yrs:
With a therapist, cataloged all the folks that ghosted me (almost 100 over time).
Spend time in their homes, baptize their kids, cry with them, be with them in crisis. Then they're gone!
If you don't process your pain, you will project it.
Black lives matter.
Not only do black lives matter,
black lives are sacred...
each one a child of God made in the image of God.
Black bodies are temples where the Holy Spirit dwells, sanctuaries of the Almighty.
Any time a black life is crushed, God is crushed.
Black lives matter. White people, systemic racism is real and if you or I ignore those systems, we’re just as responsible for these unjust deaths of our black brothers and sisters as those that pulled the trigger.
