Nevaeh couldn't bring herself to look in the mirror – she didn’t want to see a scar snaking around her head. “Losing her hair was the hardest part of this journey” said her mom. “When they first told her she needed brain surgery & that she’d lose most of her hair, she shut down."

Diagnosed with cancer on the first day of 8th grade, Bettirose started a journey she never imagined. Her wish to tell her story led her to write a novel – a young adult fantasy story, based on her battle with leukemia.
