We hope to see you tomorrow night (Wed 6/22) at 6:00 at the Downtown @MetroLibraryOK for a conversation hosted by @okprogressnow and @_VoteForChange_ about the 6/28 Oklahoma County jail bond vote. Help us spread the word and join us tomorrow night!
Cops playing GTA over a traffic stop. We lost multiple people last year to high speed chases. There is no way to claim having 13 cop cars flying down city streets to chase one guy is necessary or reasonable except to satisfy their urge for an adrenaline rush.
Stitt then gets into a brief shouting and finger wagging with Rep Forrest Bennett who happened to be standing nearby to the shock of everyone. None of this was planned or intended to “disrespect” our illustrious Governor. 3/x
How does Craig Freeman look at the data on OKCPD (#1 or 2 in police killings per capita) and pay a consultant $200,000 to tell them they have 39 different things they can improve, then go on this word salad, corporate double speak speech and end it with a wink? Wild.
We've been quiet waiting for OKC to get their recommendations and DO SOMETHING about police brutality! The next step is here. March 1st, we need folks to speak out at City Council!
Thanks to @FreePressOKC for letting us get this out there. Building a larger Oklahoma County jail isn’t the only answer. Please share. https://t.co/nW9t9X6TVP
In McAlester today, if you can, please come. There is still time to make this right @GovStitt. Here are some of the sights. The confederate battle flag flies less than a block from the penitentiary. Lots of media. #JusticeforJulius
Compelling evidence that police chases kill far more people than they save. You have a million ways to catch someone later, chasing someone through a city is ridiculous.
Wouldn't want to stop the biggest killer of cops. How are they keeping the public safe if they can't even find the wherewithal to keep themselves safe?
The issue with Chad Alexander isn't his past legal trouble or recreational drug use, it's that he's a hyper partisan hack and a hypocrite. His brand of conservatism is simply trying desperately to not say the quiet parts out loud.
This is an extreme but more common than you think example of how law enforcement's use of discretion is both incredibly discriminatory and highly questionable. Never want to hear the pandering about "violent crime" again though tbh.
This is disgusting and beneath anyone who claims to stand for public safety. The protests are against those paid to protect and serve who can't do it without violence and mayhem. Learn the difference.
