The liver isn’t just passive “soil” for cancer spread – it’s an active partner. Understanding its immune-tolerant environment could unlock new therapies for colorectal cancer metastases, says @Maker_MD of @UCSFCancer and @UCSFSurgery. #Oncology#DDW2026#LiverTwitter
The Tissue is the Tissue at #AHPBA2026@Maker_MD gave a fantastic talk on some of the innovative ways we are taking on the biology of cancer @UCSFSurgery and @UCSFCancer! Using our own immune system to fight against cancer is how we will get the job done 🧪
Hot off the press❗️@JAMANetwork 💪. We teamed up with #Prenuvo to study elective screening MRIs in healthy asymptomatic individuals to establish the true prevalence of pancreatic cysts. Now we know 6-7% of the population has a cyst. >21% of 80+yo. #UCSFSurgOnc#IPMN@UCSFSurgery
Among 21,651 asymptomatic adults screened with MRI, 6.3% had incidental pancreatic cystic lesions, with <1% ≥3 cm; risk increased with age, female sex, and certain medical or family histories. #PancreaticCysts#MRI
