My goal is to help families be more creative at home, without them needing special materials so that parents can plan simple activities for their children, even if they claim to lack any artistic ability! Go to https://t.co/rPHN86lFP0 for new art ideas.
#ZeroWasteWeek starts today and I am passionate about reducing waste. A lot of the art ideas I share online use items you can find in your household recycling! When I plan art workshops, I try and save lots of recycled materials and come up with different ways to use them.
Through the Kids Art Club, I help families be more creative at home without needing special materials, so that parents can plan simple activities even if they claim to lack artistic ability! My step by step video tutorials give them the confidence and skills to get creating!
Enthusiasm for a subject is important. Does your child struggle to concentrate on art activities? What else holds their interest? They could draw themselves in a TV show, create a new cover for their favourite book or arrange their toys into a still life scene and draw!
A favourite moment in my art workshops came when a very shy girl finally spoke to me. I was pretty much the same as a child myself - terrified of speaking to adults! So I never pushed her to respond, just occasionally asked her questions to show I was interested in her work.
There is no right or wrong way to make art! Children learn new skills, express their thoughts and ideas, socialise with parents, teachers and other children. The benefits of simply trying art are many! What does your child gain?

Newspapers and magazines can become intriguing models and works of art! By rolling up the pages, you can create a solid paper tube. Make them long and create a sculpture or cut them up to make 3D artwork. Lots of possibilities, so get rolling!

When I help families be more creative, they learn new skills and develop confidence in their artistic ability. They come away with new ideas and inspiration. Their enthusiasm and passion for art is ignited, encouraging them to make creating together a regular part of their lives!
