For the record, when I paid my COURTESY VISIT to His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the FIRST LADY, it was a cordial DINNER INVITATION at their residence where the FIRST FAMILY was enjoying a relaxed evening. The BEAUTIFUL photographs you are attempting to sensationalise were shared with the FULL KNOWLEDGE and EXPRESS CONSENT of the PRESIDENT himself, after I had shown them to him. There is therefore absolutely NOTHING “TASTELESS” or “UNPRESIDENTIAL” about a Head of State enjoying a quiet moment at home with his wife and a guest.

Not every interaction with a Head of State must resemble a FORMAL STATE function Tete Fadzi.

Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, to become “A Prosperous and Empowered Upper Middle-Income Economy” driven by Knowledge, Innovation and Sustainability. Zimbabwe is actively integrating AI across multiple dimensions of the Tourism value chain in both the public and private sectors. AI-driven digital platforms are being developed to enhance the destination visibility of Zimbabwe, offering immersive virtual tours of iconic attractions such as the Victoria Falls and Great Zimbabwe Monuments, thereby broadening access to global audiences and strengthening the country’s digital Tourism footprint.

As one of the key outcomes of the Assembly, Zimbabwe was elected to the United Nations Tourism Executive Council for the period 2025 to 2029, marking a major milestone that underscores the country’s growing leadership in global Tourism governance. Representing the African region, Zimbabwe will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of global Tourism Development, focusing on Sustainability, Inclusivity and Innovation. The country also expressed interest in joining the UN Tourism Task Team on Tourism Statistics, a move aimed at strengthening its Tourism data systems and promoting evidence-based planning and policy formulation.
