I usually spend my time on the practical uses of AI. But a conversation with colleagues led me to an analogy that REALLY intrigued me

Humans have reshaped plants for thousands of years. But the lesser emphasized fact is that plants have also reshaped us, without understanding us at all. What might that tell us about our relationship with an intelligence above our own?

This is me from ~15 years ago.

What do you think is making this kid smile? Maybe it’s because his team won 1st place, or because he’s technically playing with Legos, or even just because mom asked politely.

All those are probably true - but I believe now there was a deeper reason for that grin, a reason younger me felt but didn’t know.

He’s building.

Building things, especially with technology, has always been what I enjoy. Over the years it might have slowed, but it never stopped.

Well, over the last 2+ years I’ve been building a LOT more - and I wanted to use this as a reintroduction of myself and to share about what I’ve been doing and what’s to come.

Understand these few things:

I am not trying to become some sort of influencer or talking head online - lord knows we don’t need more of those

This is for ME. I hope what I share helps you think more and inspires you to build more (I’m confident it will) - but I’m not doing this for anyone else but the betterment of myself and my goals.

All of what I plan to share about has been done in the early mornings, late nights, and weekends that can’t ever be long enough.

So,

If you’ve stayed to read this long, you might be wondering what I plan to share about.

Lumintel - I started this business 18 months ago. Building it has taught me so much about helping people put AI to work in their businesses.

Things I’m building - Projects, experiments, what works, and what doesn’t. There is no good reason I can’t share what I learn along the way.

Thoughts and essays - In the age of AI it becomes extremely easy to outsource our thinking to AI. I want to fight that atrophy for myself by thinking harder and deeper than I ever have before.

And of course much more!

P.S. should I grow out the Afro like young Malcolm had??
