Making public statements regarding the rampant racism in our world is NOT enough.
Tomorrow I am partaking in a *mandatory* workshop about white supremacy... by my employer.
Actions speak louder than words and I am grateful for the position Iโm in right now, despite everything.
Just to update folks on this account but some updates about 2020 for me so far:
Did a cross country road trip for a new job fighting The Good Fight, work with the best team in the world, live in a beautiful state, and am 100% smitten with my absolute gem of a boyfriend.
On top of thriving professionally because of the continuous support Iโve given on all levels by my employer, I am also learning more about fighting the current systems we have in place.
Why is it that every time I decide to park somewhere after seeing cars park in that very spot for month... I get a @PhilaParking ticket lol?
Like that one time my roommate said I could park near a decommissioned fire hydrant and I still got a ticket and had to appeal it...
Reminiscing and uhhh the past week has been lit: I met @tobias31, Iโve decided to start playing basketball and join a co-ed league this winter, Iโm getting another dog, and @SmileItsCorrine and I went on a wonderful date. Good job, Mal!
Inside the test kitchen of Impossible Foods, where scientists are working to create a meat alternative that might just help save the planetโand, they hope, wipe out animal agriculture by 2035. https://t.co/GdtofBk2yd
Reading through interviews I did with a man who served 43 yrs in prison for something he did when he was 17 & I just find myself overwhelmed & infuriated by the idea that ppl think putting someone in a cage for four decades for something they did as a child is ever a good thing.
