A man from northern Nigeria, speaking on television, questioned why pupils abducted in Borno State have remained in captivity for 143 days, while children kidnapped in Oyo State the same month are already home.
Both groups were seized in May. He asked why the federal government has not rescued the Borno children.
Nigerians want the world to stand with them. They want ppl from different nations to call out the atrocities happening in their country. They weep with joy when this happens.
But they also call you performative and stupid when u talk about atrocities happening in other places.
In 1987 a Fulani herdsman while digging a well found a canoe, 8.4 metres long, which was carved from a single tree. Radiocarbon dating put it at roughly 8,000–8,500 years old which makes it the oldest boat ever found in Africa, and the second oldest in the world (only a Dutch canoe is older).
It proved that People were already navigating waterways in what is now northeastern Nigeria, thousands of years before the pyramids. Humans in what now became the Northeastern Nigeria were building boats while much of the world was still in the Stone Age.
Lol. But Nigeria is already economically, culturally, and politically dependent on the United States. Which is worse.
I understand the need for self-reliance, and advocate for it, but it appears the opposition to the China-Nigeria relationship from most of you isn't because you want Nigeria to be truly independent, but because you just don't want competition for U.S imperialism.
In the last 10 months, the US has signed an extractive deal in both health and mineral development. It has arm twisted Nigeria into an exploitative security partnership.
When are we going to stop “romanticizing” America? 🤷🏿♂️
You and I know thats not a rabbit. Nigerians do this thing where they eat rats and just because they dont wana admit they are rat eaters, they call it rabbit
To help Nigerians understand this headline better, I have decided to localize it.
“Tinubu pledges N5million to every Nigerian if APC wins in 2027”
Okay, let me hear your thoughts on this.
Would you vote APC with such promise?
How much will it cost the Tinubu government to deliver on this promise, and how do you think he will finance this?
Isn't this vote-buying?
Lastly, if it's not vote-buying, isn't this sociali…..(you complete the rest)…..?
Whatever you do on social media, you are doing it in the shadow of someone who came before you, burned brighter than you, caused more outrage than you, commanded a larger following than you, said something more radical than you, survived a greater scandal than you, or simply grew tired of the circus and stepped aside.
There is almost nothing you can do online today that has not already been done. Not your ideology, your rebellion, your wit, your provocation, your intellectual posturing, your moral crusade, your cancellation campaign, your scandal, your reinvention, or even your spectacular public disgrace.
Feminism as Hatred of Men
If you look at feminism through the prism of one angry woman, who is probably just transferring the aggression of bitter encounters with the men in her world, you are going to grow resentful of the ideology. Even Chimamanda Adichie, who published a booklet titled We Should All Be Feminists, in which she argued for a world where women are afforded equal dignity and opportunity, and where both boys and girls are freed from restrictive gender expectations, has had to clarify her understanding of feminism. In a well-publicised panel discussion, she said, “I often say to young Nigerian feminists, please do not use feminism to justify your wickedness.” She observed that some of these young women were confusing feminism with nastiness.
A lot of us began as self-admitted feminists but had to take a step back when the movement became perverted in some quarters and turned into an avenue for demonising men without exception. Only a foolish man would support a movement that treats all men as complicit in the oppression of women and promotes hatred of men as some form of enlightenment. The paradox is that you cannot dismantle the patriarchal values and institutions that oppress women without forming alliances with men, because an eye-for-an-eye war between men and women is ultimately an asymmetrical one and, more importantly, a self-defeating one.
In the North, we have had generations of women’s rights advocates such as Hajiya Saudatu Mahdi, who pushed for reforms with grace, wisdom and persistence. None of these podcasting characters can match what such women have achieved in securing the representation of women at the table of opportunities. Their work has helped make it possible that, if you walk into classrooms across the North today, you may be surprised to find more women than men in some of them. They achieved this without any delusional warfare aimed at erasing the man or treating him as the natural enemy of the woman.
To reduce feminism to a debate about who gets to cook at home, when domestic arrangements have historically emerged from economic divisions of labour, family structures, culture and circumstance, is a farce long overdue for retirement. What a woman needs is her dignity and the right to live and make choices that suit her. While those choices include the choice not to cook, they also include the choice of the woman who cooks because her husband provides everything for her, the choice of the woman who prefers to stay at home, and the choice of the woman who wears a hijab. If feminism is truly about agency, then it cannot recognise a woman’s freedom only when she makes choices that conform to somebody else’s idea of liberation.
There is no world in which an advocacy built on promoting hatred of men without any exception is a mark of wisdom, but that is tragically the oil that drives much of the nastiness that qualifies as feminism these days.
North America and Europe are largely responsible for this.
The world should be thanking Africa for keeping the young population alive.
The United States and Europe are determined to preside over the extinction of humanity on earth.
When Senator Natasha exposed Senator Akpabio, she was suspended immediately. But now that there are allegations and evidence on Senator Shehu Umar sponsoring terrorism, everywhere is quiet. It makes you wonder what exactly is the priority of the Nigerian Senate.
Read this if you eat catfish.
Yesterday, I was tagged to a BBC video that showed Indian authorities destroying many catfish farms and burying hundreds of thousands of fish live. Indian authorities claim the fish caused cancer, amongst other things. I checked the scientific name of the catfish and it's Clarias gariepinus, the most common catfish we farm in Nigeria.
I started digging. I first went to WHO's website and I found out that their cancer agency, IARC, dis not lost Clarias gariepinusas a carcinogen. I felt a wave of relief.
I then went further to find out why the Indian authorities would say that the fish is carcinogenic. The official Indian ban from the late 1990s was first about ecology. Our own African catfish is predatory, invasive, and a threat to their native catfish.
African catfish is extremely hardy. It can live in dirty, low-oxygen water that would kill many other fish. Illegal Indian farms often exploit that: drains, slaughterhouse waste, crowded pits, polluted ponds. In that setting the fish can pick up heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead, chromium, mercury), other industrial pollutants and parasites such as fish lice.
Final verdict: African catfish is not carcinogenic. But if it is raised in unclean and polluted water, it can store heavy metals in its body, which may harm the health of the humans that eat it. Be sure of your catfish supplier. Once they maintain good hygiene and healthy practices, you're good to go.
If Nigerians actually understand what is going on here, they would be community noting this Mario guy rather than endorsing him.
Here’s another video of this Chinese vlogger, having a nice time with the locals in Nigeria. Again, this visit was two years ago. At no point did he conclude that no one should visit Nigeria. That review was completely manufactured by Mario and his gang. And funny enough. this vloggger’s African tour was to gauge Africa’s reception of China, which was largely successful, as a response to the U.S. anti-China campaigns on the continent.
In case you are not aware of what’s going on. Trump visited China earlier this year to ask that China opens its market to American products. That visit was far from successful. China instead threw its market wide open to Africa for free even without having any African leader visit to beg for it. The U.S. is not happy about that, and is currently doing everything possible to stoke China-Africa tension.
America is fighting China in Africa, and you are better off if America doesn’t win that war. What’s your response? Co-sign American propaganda, because that’s the only way you will show that you are concerned about the beginning culture in your African cities.
It is well.
Mario Nawfal is trying to stoke China-Nigeria tension. This is the same guy who cooked propaganda to the point that his own idol, Elon Musk, disowned him. He had to apologize to Elon.
This is why you should never trust an any American with a considerable influence on this app. They all work for the American intelligence.
Back to the content of this video. Since you have decided to amplify this, now here’s another task for you: ask another Chinese to make a video of them trying to access a Nigerian Nightclub or supermarket. You will notice how they get treated better than citizens in some cases. A typical foreign would appear in a causal gear at a Nightclub that if citizens tried the same they would likely be denied access. Why? simply cos they are foreigners, and I’m not sure any country on earth treats foreigners better than Nigeria.
To Nigerians reading this, no matter what domestic issues you have, it’s for you to address internally, never let a foreigner set you up like this to bad mouth your own country. It will never benefit you.
Mario, government agents (ICE), not agbero, have been harassing visitors in the U.S., when are you going to post about it and issue the same warning of “don’t come to America”?
