Modern day slavery in action= Domestic work 'industry'. I wish, I TRULY WISH that I live to see the day when I can see domestic workers gain their voice & are able to stand up against the exploitation that they face at the hands of Pakistani urban middle-class. You go to a restaurant & u see an underaged child holding her employers' baby, looking at rich people eat expensive food in front of her.

You listen to their 'Baaji' employers saying, 'My maid is so dumb, she should be paying me for training her'. Physical abuse, psychological abuse are a result of ZERO REGULATION. No written contracts, no limits on working hours & no minimum wage in place. This is the worst form of dehumanisation which stares at us on a daily basis & yet we look the other way.

I don't suffer this terrible fate purely by accident of birth, not because I DESERVE THE PRIVILEGE that I have. However, isn't it such an unfair world where you get rewarded or punished depending upon where you were born?
