@CornishNews@sandycann2 @stacey_guthrie @Mark_Jenkin There is a consulation due out in Nov be we wouod love Cornwall to pilot for 2021 as we dont want another year like this one
@CornishNews@sandycann2 @stacey_guthrie @Mark_Jenkin The 1969 Tourism Dev act as the potential to quickly enact a requirement for all accommodation to be registered ie hotels , airbnb, verbo, owners direct amd all properties including second homes that are rented out. Cwll Council would be the authority not VC
@CornishNews@sandycann2 @stacey_guthrie @Mark_Jenkin It would be good to havw a call or zoom as i do feel we are all on same page it is in no one interest to have over tourism - lets join forces to use all channels to lobby for controls - are you up for a call/zoom?
@stacey_guthrie @sandycann2 @Mark_Jenkin Well not much point in extending this thread,as your mind is made up. The fact that we were the only tourist board to tell visitors not to come to Cornwall ahead of lockdown one or that we lobbied for only proven compliant accommodation should be allowed to open passed you by
@sandycann2 @stacey_guthrie @Mark_Jenkin I do give a toss and have been lobbying for registration system and even a licensing scheme for last few years as i care about Cornwall and our quality of life and environment.
@Tredhek@ILoveCornwallUK@CornishNews I do not know and will have to see what happens this week and what the experts say - maybe the media should pay for an independent expert to review the data etc
1/ Businesses who deferred their VAT will no longer have to pay a lump sum at the end of March next year. They will have the option of splitting it into smaller, interest free payments over the course of 11 months - benefitting up to half a million businesses
To continue supporting over 150,000 businesses and protect 2.4 million jobs, the Government has extended the 15% VAT cut for the tourism and hospitality sectors to the end of March next year.
*Fab news* @Rick_Stein's next series is going to celebrate all things... Cornwall! He'll be championing the food, history, music, art and culture of the county we're proud to call our home during a new 15 part BBC2 series. Keep an eye out for more details later in the year.
