Can I get an F for the fallen stop sign and the fallen pedestrian sign? They were both run over this morning by drivers.
It's wild that we continue spending money on roads for cars when cars clearly aren't safe to use in winter.
@TheCritninja So the 5a network specifies lights, iirc. For example, the memorial pathway is being (ever so gradually) upgraded to lit pathways.
But why can't they do this without having to pull teeth?
Sadly another #yycbike rider was hit by a car. This is the 73rd incident for 2023. Ride safe everyone. #yyc drivers, please give cyclists the space they need. This incident happened in #ward10#yyccc. @cllrandrechabot @jyotigondek
In March this year I raised the issue of large commercial trucks operating on Memorial Drive when they aren’t allowed to be there as per Calgary’s Truck Route.

@ABDanielleSmith We don't have problems with our electricity except for the UCP not managing to make a market for reliability.
Climate change is real - I would rather not mortgage our children's future for a cheap buck today.

@RichmondRCMP On that note, @RichmondRCMP, how many drivers to whom you gave a warning or a break went on to hit a pedestrian? How many if those could you have taken off of the road had they not been given a break?
@RichmondRCMP Yeah, pedestrian safety is not a two-way street. It is about drivers killing pedestrians, not the other way around.
Enforce the law (ticket distraction and speeding and failing to stop) and do not "give the drivers a break" and maybe we'll have fewer dead bodies on the road.
#Ableg let’s fact check Danielle Smith:
❌- 736 Nurses LEFT Alberta in 2022; Smith JUST announced hiring 70 new international RN’s
❌- A RECORD 2,500 Albertans will die of opioid use in 2023 due to UCP DEFUNDING treatments
❌- The UCP DEFUNDED 668 officers roles since 2019
@ABDanielleSmith Then why is the UCP opening coal mining of the eastern slopes of the Rockies?
Sounds like @ABDanielleSmith is just busy talking out of both sides of her mouth.
That is so great! I hate riding Northmount - it feels super unsafe, and there's no other option for bikes (cars have, well, hard to enumerate how many options there are, even as a mathematician).
for comparison, the roads in blue were repaved this year and the roads in red will be repaved next year
if we can complete large-scale network upgrades for cars, then we can do the same for people on bikes
driver just needs to deploy the tried and true "i didnt see them" defense and they'll drive away with no consequences #yycbike

All Albertans who are concerned about our water during drought and about fiscal conservatism should use this and submit a Statement of Concern to the provider govt. CC the premier, Brian Jean, Rebecca Schultz and your MLA. Cleanup is gonna cost us a TON of $$ in future.
@AndrewScheer The conservatives shouldn't have voted to mortgage our children's future.
What's the point of being conservative if there's nothing left to conserve?
Brussels, Madrid, and Paris since 2021, Cardiff since last month, and now Amsterdam from December...which European capital will be the next to go 30 km/h?
