@lalubko@izme_josh I’m all for choices. In most places in the U.S., rail is not a viable alternative. Yet many Europeans expect what works for them to be the one-size-fits all solution. Which, ironically, limits people having a choice to having *their* choice.
@izme_josh If you’re late to work on rail, it’s because the government can’t make the trains run on time.
Maybe that’s the difference - Europeans treat taxes like I treat the fees for doordash, paying a convenience fee when you can’t be bothered to do it yourself?
@izme_josh I think I figured out the European fixation on rail systems. It’s the transportation equivalent of outsourcing their problems to government. Cars require individual investment, responsibility and maintenance. If you’re late to work while driving, it’s your fault. 1/x
@rdone@surlydave_40@aakashgupta That’s what submarines are supposed to do - torpedo ships from stealth. A literal sneak attack.
The IRIS Dena wasn’t unarmed, unless they removed the 76mm cannon, the torpedos, and anti-ship missiles right before leaving port… a rather silly configuration for a warship.
@GetMinsonOff@OMGTheMess One is from doing actual work. The other is from investing (ie taking a risk) money that you already have made via actual work.
@TheBuddyCSM Another time, we bubble wrapped everything in Top’s office. Desk? Yes. Keyboard? Also yes. Photos on the wall? Yes.
CO came back to Christmas wrapping on his, and everything in his office perfectly mirror imaged like a photo negative.
Good times.
@TheBuddyCSM I was the XO, this happened in reverse. 1SG wanted the pregnant admin clerk’s L-shaped desk moved so he could see her at all times. Moving it would have pointed her SIPR toward the door, which S2 wouldn’t allow, so we got another desk and set it up inside Top’s office for her.
@fire_stone98@Fat_Electrician They don’t intend to cover any of the 40 trillion. They intend to confiscate 1 trillion and make 10 trillion in vote-buying promises.
@FenixAmmunition@Cyn1calCrusader Just remember, each year 10x more Europeans die from lack of air conditioning than Americans from firearms (including suicides).
