@The_Only_Barbie What is so interesting about this is she has highlighted how the right wing have done a 180 turn from the claim eugenicists made in the 1920s/30s that working-class women were having too many babies with working-class men, to now making the claim that they aren't having enough.
@fesshole My ex was a passionate Blades fan. My husband is an Ipswich man. I don't give much of a stuff about football, but this year feels like poetic justice tbh.
@fesshole Arithmetic and timestables are on the curriculum for people who aren't very good at maths.
Signed: an individual who has made a name for themselves being better at statistics than anyone else in the room (...full of arts grads).
@fesshole After we got married DH and I were frequently asked 'how is married life?', and we always responded: 'Great. Just like it was before, without having to plan a wedding.'
We had a 4-month engagement fwiw, to avoid dragging out this crap too.
@AlisonMoyet Use ChatGTP to draft response message/email stuff. Or write what you are planning to send them in ChatGTP and ask if it has got all the points across in the right tone for the situation.
@fesshole I have been hearing this story since I was a teenager. Which was a while ago...
It is an urban legend that has been told for decades, and I'm actually a bit disappointed in you Fesshole.
@HarleyShah Ugh, flashback to when I lived with my landlord who asked me if I couldn't spend Valentine's at one of my parents' houses (reader: they had one and lived in it) so he could spend the night undisturbed with his girlfriend.
@LydiaMizon I once interviewed for a job, which was unusual in that it was in my industry and was based in the small town I had grown up in, and where my parents still lived. They declined to employ me because they thought the job was 'too convenient for me'.
@CatherineHume10@sianharries_ I went to an Ofsted 'Outstanding' all-girls school that was noted for the science education it offered girls, 25 years ago, and I absolutely wasn't the only one who threw up from period pain routinely. We are all successful adults. What on earth is your point?
@fxbylinda@grahamchatterl2 I'm sure a huge number of endometriosis sufferers want to know what these effective treatments for 'period pain' that exist now, are.
@fesshole Impossible, as I haven't successfully ordered a plain filter coffee in a Pret for about 3 years. They insist the machine isn't working and make you order, and pay for, a black americano. They thought of this first.
@exRAF_Al@dontdelay You missed the bit where they wouldn't give us mortgages despite pouring our income into the coffers of second/third homeowners in order to have somewhere to live.
