A 64-year-old woman, Jane Kemunto, from Nyankono in Borabu, Nyamira County, was brutally murdered in what is suspected to have been a nighttime attack.

Jane was known for her determination and sacrifice in educating her children despite facing many challenges. Her efforts paid off, as her children secured good jobs and, after several years, built the family homes in the Gusii region.

Tragically, the attack occurred shortly after the houses were completed. The incident comes amid a series of devastating losses for the family: Jane's husband passed away recently, and the family's watchman was reportedly killed just a few days before her own death.
