President Tinubu is very likable - and sadly, it’s being used against the people. it didn’t take this much suffering in the past years before people got frustrated and took to the streets. this is the worst we have had it, yet people are still willing to endure. it’s just unfortunate that his government happens to be the one overseeing this decline. this will be his legacy. if he does get a second term, there’s no assurance that things will get better - judging by the results of his first term. so, what’s another 4 years of enduring?

but you want to know what’s interesting - i don’t think this will be an easy election for the President. if a credible candidate doesn’t emerge from the opposition, the 2027 election will have the lowest voters turnout in our history - because if everyone knows tinubu is going to win, then why bother coming out to vote?

these are the hidden costs of a lopsided political landscape. When the 'other side' feels nonexistent, the idea of a 'free and fair' process becomes questionable, and democracy - as we know it -ceases to exist.
