The ICGLR Regional Youth Forum today convened a Stakeholders Engagement Breakfast Meeting, bringing together partners and development actors committed to advancing the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda across the ICGLR region.
Today, the Executive Committee commenced its 1st Working Session of 2026 at the Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete, bringing together representatives from all ICGLR Member States.
The workshop is focused on finalising a comprehensive early warning module for the Great Lakes Region and strengthening institutional linkages within Mlinzi. This marks a key step from system design to operationalisation for improved conflict prevention and response.
Experts from ICGLR, EJVM, JIFC, @ICGLR_LMRC and key early warning systems @AUC_PAPS@EASF4Peace@COMESA_HQ@IGAD_CEWARN@SADC_News are refining indicators, escalation parameters, and thematic pillars covering governance, security, economy, environment, and humanitarian issues.
The ICGLR held a technical expert workshop in Nairobi to advance its Conflict Early Warning and Response System (Mlinzi), with support from the @UEauBurundi and @ISSAfrica. The workshop brings together partners to strengthen coordination and technical exchange.

The discussions underscored the importance of youth participation,peace & security in the Great Lakes Region & the role of the creative economy in driving sustainable development.Presentations also highlighted the establishment,mandate & operationalization of the RYF Secretariat.
Today, the ICGLR Secretariat convened a Donor Coordination Roundtable in Bujumbura, bringing together partners to strengthen coordination and support for ICGLR’s 2026–2030 priorities.
The meeting reinforced collective efforts towards peace, stability and sustainable development.
I participated in the meeting of Doha process for peace in eastern DRC held in Montreux - Switzerland from 13-17 April . The meeting witnessed the signing of an MoU for ceasefire mechanism.
The publication of the second edition of the Regional Guidelines for the formalization of the ASM Sector was supported by @IMPACTtransform under the Peace and Security in the Great Lakes Region project, funded by @UEauBurundi
