3/ The meeting was on WeChat, (never use it) I downloaded the legit app, couldn’t find their “room.” They sent me a link to a site called “WeChat Meet” so I thought maybe it was like Zoom, where you sometimes need a separate installer. I downloaded the .exe in desperation.
2/ We exchanged messages, and by September 2, they sent me a professional-looking Calendly link to schedule a meeting. Everything was branded and convincing, so I booked a meeting for the next day. Nothing seemed off…yet. #DesignCommunity
1/ On August 31, I was approached on Behance by someone named Carita Mo with a specific job offer. They wanted me to work on a festival for Wuhan University, referencing particular designs from my portfolio. It felt real, so I was all in. #Phishing
This was done in less than 24h by one person using AI as the ground tooling, some post in AE and that’s it.
