@chef_rk Parts of Western Odisha were under Maratha rule. We have linguistic & culinary borrowings from Western Indian cuisine due to shared history. It does not always have to be from a survival lens. It’s high time people with influence stop the Bichara-fication of Odisha.
@chef_rk But who decides what it is pretty and what isn’t? You claim that the cuisine (without mention of anything from Western Odisha) was shaped by deprivation and neglect among other factors. It doesn’t have to be so bichara. It is rich, it is decadent, it is flavourful.
@CKrDas@SBP663 I have written the exact same thing. Separist propaganda of MLAs isn’t helping anyone. Please don’t club me with this person who clearly lives for misinformation.
Odisha was the first state to be formed on linguistic basis on April 1, 1936 owing to efforts of stalwart leaders from across the state incl. Sambalpur, like Late Chandrasekhar Behera. Don’t let one MLA tell you otherwise. #bandeutkaljanani#odisha#UtkalDivas
@SBP663 Also what’s with “you have treated us”? It’s the government- all the parties, all those in power. It includes CMs and Ministers from western Odisha. Our politicians have failed us and continue to divide us.

Been decades since i left Delhi (occasional flying visits notwithstanding) and yet seeing this CP at dusk pic still gives a kick someplace around the solar plexus. A nebulous feeling of a home lost forever, seen sometimes in dreams.
“In one of the most notable moments in sports history, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped thinking he had completed the race.
A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't understand his Spanish.
Fernandez eventually caught up to him and instead of passing him, he pushed him to victory.
A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?"
Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.” The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win.” The journalist insisted again, “But you could have won!”Ivan looked at him & replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of that medal?
What would my Mom think of that?”
Values are transmitted from generation to generation.
What values are we teaching our children?
Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways to WIN.”
