Successful day of curriculum mapping with the dual/mono 5th grade team from @ElmhurstD205! Their deep understanding of grade level standards & content made such a difference to the process! Canβt wait to dig into the units next time! @GrupoAdelante
We had a great day of curriculum development @VVSD365U! We developed maps for both dual language & monolingual K/1. We are so excited about how this work will support and engage ALL learners! @GrupoAdelante @HannahAdelante
Launching into a new week with building background & oracy activities with a 5th grade DL class through an observation chart & partner discussion using parallel lines! @GrupoAdelante @Bilingual118
Iβm honored to be able to support D75 Middle School DL teachers this school year! Super excited to see them bring the curriculum to life with their students!
So much fun & positive energy from this wonderful group of instructional leaders! It was extra special to be back in the district where I received my education!
I love working with these teachers!! So proud of their hard work this year. It was a great day of reflection and celebration of how far theyβve come in just one year! I canβt wait to see more of these units in action next school year!
@Sociologysal@threadreaderapp Iβm your former student & was a teacher and instructional coach & I left my position last year in Nov. I sympathize with your struggle & the politics that force policies that will only hurt students. Thank you for raising awareness & your passion and commitment to students!
I had so much fun teaching the consensus placemat strategy to this 4th grade dual class and loved listening to their discussions using talking chips & sentence frames! #oracy#cooperativelearning
Consensus placemats = writing, reading + oracy. Increasing Oracy in our classrooms through fun and engaging cooperative learning activities with @GrupoAdelante #dual158#duallanguage#biliteracy
It was a privilege to visit the fabulous DL teachers yesterday with @RyanZak5! These teachers have been working so hard on developing biliteracy curriculum & Iβm still smiling thinking about the deep learning happening in their classrooms!
Using cooperative structures like the consensus placemat allows students to brainstorm their own ideas, share with their peers, then come to consensus as a group to formulate a response. Loved seeing this in a 4th grade DL class! @Bilingual118 @GrupoAdelante
