#ICWA Special Publication titled โ60 Years of #India-#Malta Diplomatic Relationsโ commemorates the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Malta @IndiainMalta. Commissioned by #ICWA in collaboration with the High Commission of Malta in India @MaltaInIndia, the Special Publication includes messages from External Affairs Minister of India Hon. Dr. S. Jaishankar @DrSJaishankar and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Malta Hon. Dr. Ian Borg @DeputyPMIanBorg and has contributions from current and former diplomats, military historians, scholars and practitioners.
The #ICWA Special Publication highlights shared democratic values and expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, education, clean energy, tourism, and the blue economy. The Publication includes papers with interesting insights about the work of Maltese Missionaries in India, presence of British Indian Army in Malta in the 19th Century and during World War I, presence of Maltese soldiers in British Indian Army, the Indian Sindhi Community in Malta, and the similarity of Post World War I anti-British sentiments that resulted in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in India & the Sette Giugno riots in Malta.
