The late Nonkululeko Gabriella “Gaby” Luenza Ndaba was a (31) 🕊️🕊️year old South African artist and business administration professional whose tragic disappearance and murder in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, in 2023 remain unsolved. Her case has ignited widespread public anger and fueled national campaigns against gender based violence (GBV). She vanished on 26 May 2023 while on her usual daily walk in Van Dyk Park. Six days later, on 1 June 2023, her body was found under a bridge in the same area just days before what would have been her 32nd birthday.

Tylan October (6), went missing in Duncanville, Vereeniging, on Monday, 15 December 2025.

Tylan was last seen wearing a red and blue tracksuit at around 17:00 while playing with friends. His mother reported him missing on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at SAPS Vereeniging.

Kwakhanya Mhlanganisi, 16, was allegedly murdered by two teenagers in Site C, Khayelitsha, on 4 December 2025. It is alleged that Kwakhanya was murdered in a homophobic attack, as he was part of the queer community.

It is alleged that two teenagers attempted to rob him, and after an initial altercation, the group reportedly chased after Kwakhanya, assaulted him with a brick, and then placed a bucket over his body and set it alight, causing severe burns. Kwakhanya later succumbed to his injuries.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the murder. Another suspect, also believed to be a teenager, has not yet been arrested. This hate crime once again highlights the horrific realities faced by the LGBTQI+ community. We are heartbroken by the loss of yet another beautiful soul.
