@nellstock @thismorning Those cases are very rare and those families will find support at a gender clinic. However I don’t feel that somehow encouraging children to think about their ‘identity’ and ‘sexual orientation’ in adult terms is very healthy. In fact it’s downright dangerous in my opinion.

The bottom line is that clinicians are aware that puberty suppression may have negative effects on brain development but don't know much more. Meanwhile, gender clinics have been assuring parents that puberty blockers are safe and reversible. /6

Suppressing sex hormones during puberty could alter neurodevelopment in complex ways - not all of which may be beneficial.

@thismorning Here’s a great website run by a trans man, who has gone through full gender reassignment surgery. He details his terrible experiences with ‘trans healthcare’ (which is all experimental mind you!) and he details others’ too.

@LFBird @thismorning By labeling this child as ‘trans’ at 4, is setting the child on a road to lifelong medicalization and surgeries, potentially rendering them infertile and other lifelong health issues, just because they are gender-non-conforming. Just let the poor child grow in peace!!!
