🇨🇳 China seized secret F-35 parts that ended up in Hong Kong for unknown reasons

Chinese authorities confiscated components from a US F-35A that, in summer 2026, turned up in Hong Kong while being shipped from Australia to the United States.

The cargo included a pilot canopy and a weapons-bay door. Both Lockheed Martin parts have a radar-absorbing stealth coating that reduces the jet’s radar signature.

UPS handled the shipment as Lockheed Martin’s intermediary. The route crossed the Pacific with a stop in South Korea. From there, for an unexplained reason, the cargo was redirected to Hong Kong.

Chinese customs or state agencies seized the parts and have not returned them. The US and Australia have voiced serious concern that Beijing could reverse-engineer the secret technology.
