A white man died of thirst in a South Carolina jail.
Ruled a homicide.
Here's how many stories ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNOW and CNN have run on Gary "Bubba" Blair:
ABC: 0
NBC: 0
CBS: 0
MSNOW: 0
CNN: 0
Not one story on their websites.
Not one post on their national X accounts.
But the same week his death was ruled a homicide, CBS and ABC found time for a story from that exact same jail.
An inmate who escaped his cell with a pencil.
The pencil got national coverage.
Bubba got nothing.
His family's attorney says he died of dehydration.
6 black jail employees have been fired.
No one has been charged.
Local reporters at Queen City News did the work. The national networks looked away.
Justice for Bubba. Say his name.
It’s now been 75 days since a jailed white man died because black jailers deprived him of water and food.
Gary “Bubba” Blair lost about 100lbs in less than 6 months.
He wasn’t allowed to shower for almost a month.
He was forced to drink what water he could find in the toilet.
He was jailed for a non-violent offense, and the judge ordered him to be transported to a mental health facility.
But that never happened.
He wrote letters, begging for help.
“No help for a white man,” he wrote.
He was right: no help arrived.
He was found dead on the feces covered floor of his jail cell.
The ME listed his death as “homicide.”
6 black employees at South Carolina’s Chesterfield Detention Center were fired.
That’s it.
No arrests. No charges. No justice.
No media outrage.
If 6 white jailers had starved and dehydrated a black man to death, the country would be on fire.
Justice for Bubba.
@_AlAdil_ President Andrew Jackson completely eliminated the U.S. national debt and achieved a debt-free federal budget on January 1, 1835 (reaching $0). He remains the only U.S. president in history to reduce the national debt entirely to zero
