আজ ২৩ জুন (মঙ্গলবার) সকাল ১১:৩০ টায় জাতীয় সংসদ ভবনের বিরোধীদলীয় নেতার কার্যালয়ে মাননীয় বিরোধীদলীয় নেতা এবং বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামীর সম্মানিত আমীর ডা. শফিকুর রহমান এমপি’র সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশে নিযুক্ত সুইজারল্যান্ডের মান্যবর রাষ্ট্রদূত মি. রেতো রেংগলি এক সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ ও বৈঠকে মিলিত হন। রাষ্ট্রদূতের সঙ্গে এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন সুইজারল্যান্ড দূতাবাসের হেড অব পলিটিক্যাল ইকোনমিক এবং কমিউনিকেশন অ্যাফেয়ার্স মি. আলবের্তো জিওভানেত্তি এবং সিনিয়র পলিটিক্যাল, ইকোনমিক এবং প্রেস অফিসার মি. খালেদ চৌধুরী।

বৈঠকটি অত্যন্ত আন্তরিকতা ও হৃদ্যতাপূর্ণ পরিবেশে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। বৈঠকে তারা বাংলাদেশে নির্বাচন পরবর্তী বিরাজমান সার্বিক পরিস্থিতি, বাংলাদেশ ও সুইজারল্যান্ডের বিনিয়োগ বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। ভবিষ্যতে বাংলাদেশের প্রতি সুইজারল্যান্ডের দৃঢ় সমর্থন থাকবে। একই সাথে ভবিষ্যতে বাংলাদেশে-সুইজারল্যান্ডের বিনিয়োগ আরও বাড়বে বলেও তারা আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেছেন।”

বৈঠকে মান্যবর রাষ্ট্রদূত বাংলাদেশে গণতন্ত্র এবং গণতান্ত্রিক প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে শক্তিশালী করার ওপর জোর দেন।
এছাড়া রোহিঙ্গা সংকট, মানবাধিকার পরিস্থিতির উন্নয়ন, স্থিতিশীল পরিস্থিতি নিশ্চিতে সরকার, বিরোধী দল ও নাগরিক সমাজের ইতিবাচক ভূমিকার গুরুত্ব নিয়েও বৈঠকে আলোচনা হয়। মাননীয় বিরোধীদলীয় নেতা মান্যবর রাষ্ট্রদূতকে তার সক্রিয় ভূমিকার জন্য ধন্যবাদ জানান এবং গ্রীন এনার্জি, দ্বিপাক্ষিক বাণিজ্য সম্প্রসারণসহ নানা ক্ষেত্রে সুইজারল্যান্ডকে এগিয়ে আসার আহবান জানান।

আলোচনাকালে মাননীয় বিরোধীদলীয় নেতার পররাষ্ট্রবিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা ব্যারিস্টার মীর আহমদ বিন কাসেম আরমান এমপি এবং পররাষ্ট্র বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা কমিটির সদস্য জনাব আলী আহমাদ মাবরুর উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
